Following finding that I still had mods like MEM which were unavailable after the demise of atomic gamer, I have gone through my old harddrive, and I have these mods stored on it.

Though I did a cursory check for most of them, some of them may already be available.

Some of the mods I have on my harddrive may be old versions which otherwise don't work, and/or which were fixed at a later date - between 2014 and 2017 I was using a laptop and sadly the harddrive bricked on that one.

Anyway, here's the mods and scenarios I have:

That said, would anyone need any of these in particular to be reuploaded?

At least some of this is considered lost treasures. It would be great if you could put it somewhere for permanent storage or at least temporarily. I came to the forum shortly before the AG crash and was actively downloading potentially interesting modifications, but I managed to download far from everything I wanted.

I have been looking for "Guerra del Paraguay" and "Guerra Pacifico" for a long time.

It would also be interesting to take a look at "Shogun Civil War", "Going Viking 2", "Crimean War", "CAMELOT! v.2" and "The Napoleonic Wars".

This is for a start, so as not to immediately declare very long lists :).

Thank you in advance!

That is a nice find! 44 scenarios if I counted correctly. Including some I wasn't familiar with.

First thought is, have you copied them to a current hard drive as well? I see you're unfortunately familiar with bricked HDDs, and since old hard drives aren't the most reliable thing in the world, having a second copy of them would insure against failure, especially important for those that aren't available on the web right now.

Slightly longer term is figuring out which ones are missing or difficult to find the download for, which usually means the initial link is broken, but there's another one on the last page or what used to be the last page before more posts were added to the thread. In the general case this is something I was looking at in January, but then I got distracted by other projects, including archiving a different website that was going down on short notice.

A piece of good news is there is more support for restoring old scenarios, including (at least in some cases, I'm not sure if it applies to multi-gigabyte scenarios) hosting them at CFC, nowadays. The_J is the moderator who has been most actively involved in that, and Blake00 has done an excellent job restoring Civ2 scenario access, which has received front-page coverage (including quite recently). The_J is able to help with adding restored links to the first post, which will make it much handier to find the download for someone who finds the thread for one of these scenarios, but doesn't know about this thread.

On specific scenarios... I managed to find the Crimean War scenario: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/the-crimean-war-1853-1856-ad.85688/ . It's a two-part download, and as a CFC Uploads link pre-2007, it still works. Still always good to have a second copy though, and having an all-inclusive download is a plus.

Also, I would be interested in TCW - The Fifties 2.0. I knew about version 1.0 of The Fifties, which is in this post, and included it in my scenario compilation disc, but didn't know that there was a version 2.0. I wouldn't be surprised if it's somewhere later in that same thread, but there are 171 additional pages to check...

Hi Virote, I'd be interested in "Exploration", "TianXia (BETA)".

Exploration

TianXia (Beta)

Yeah, it's all on a current hard drive and I might get another soon as well just-in-case.

Indeed. I'm currenly prioritising what people ask for, but past that it gets a bit murkier. A couple of them I'm not even sure who exactly made the mods or where I got them from originally.

That's good to know, and when I was searching through some of the mods I had for Civ3, I'd seen that @Blake00 had already taken care of them.

Paging @The_J for interest, too.

I believe so - the page you linked is dated 2005, whereas the version I have is from a big overhaul in ~2008. Here it is - TCW - The Fifties 2.0!

:wavey: I'm normally not checking the Civ3 forums, thanks for the @ .
Also thanks for the effort Virote :).
Right now I'm busy, but on Monday I should be able to fix links where it's necessary.

Are the mediafire links connected to your account, or as annonymous upload?
Files up to 29 mb can also be hosted directly in our download database (preferably) or attached to posts. If there is anything bigger, which you'd consider to be of outstanding importance, then I could also organize hosting of that, but that should be exceptions. (forum and other things make up currently 450 GB of data, and this is getting a bit big).

Cheers, that would be great!

My own mediafire account

That's good to know, I'll keep it in consideration.

This is great work! Cheers for the tag as like The_J I'm not activity monitoring the Civ3 forum atm (this will change when I finished up my seemingly never ending Civ2 preservation & modding work haha) so I'm mostly only performing Civ3 rescues on tag request, and yup as you say I already took care of a few of these but there's plenty here I didn't know about so this is cool. Cheers on investigating each one and finding it's project thread too, this is immensely helpful when doing preservation work.

Free and reliable hosting options are actually pretty good these days. So if there's anything that The_J feels is too big for CFC then there are other options as firstly 7zip can bring down the file size quite a bit with some mods which could make CFC viable after all, but if not there's also other hosts we can look at as I've been using ModDB and Archive Org to host copies of all my Civ2 rescues (both sites a hugely popular, stable and have been around for decades).

So for those interested here's a post I've written to a few Civ3 modders about how to post a mod on ModDB.
https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/downfall-post-apocalyptic-mod.652989/page-2#post-15756293

And my Civ2 preservation project thread contains a guide for people on how to upload to Archive Org:

.

Can you upload The Boer War, NE Asia and The Last of the Mohicans please?

Following the link to my own scenario there, I find that the very first comment was saying that 76.8mb would take forever to download. Now I really feel old!

I would like all the Anno Domini you have, please!

Anno Domini (the original)

Anno Domini Classic

Anno Domini Different Dawn

Anno Domini Demo (I think this was a very early version of Classic, but posting just because I have it).

Also paging @Rob (R8XFT) , who'll get a kick out of this :)

The future is now, old man!
