I installed the game correctly. So when I try to start the game it shows the civ loading screen, but I'm still on the desktop. Then I get a windows error and then it doesn't load at all. I meet the system requirements I dont know whats wrong. I've reinstalled the game twice.

What does the error message say?

Civ 5? It's probably just because it's a beta version. ;)

Post your dxdiag information per these instructions:

Click on Start
Click on Run
Type in 'dxdiag' (without the single quotes) and press ENTER

At the bottom of the dxdiag window you will see a button labeled Save All Information. Click this button and save the information to your desktop.

Next, open up the text file you just saved using Notepad, click Edit on the menu bar at the top, click on Select All, then click Edit again, and click Copy.

Then just paste all of the information in a post in this thread.

That was only part of the dxdiag, but the important stuff looked okay. If I were you I would try reinstalling the game.

Something else you should be doing is heading to Windows Update on a regular basis (I'd say once a week... or even every couple of weeks) to grab any new critical updates that are out.

You should also be scanning for spyware/adware weekly. Running your anti-virus program scan wouldn't hurt either. Make sure these programs are updated.

I also like to use a registry cleaner weekly as well.
