problems loading mod

SOrry if this has been asked before but i checked all the forums and couldn't find an answer.

I get the error message after i install the mod
"Mods\Star Trek \ is an invalid mod directory, ignoring"

I have steam installed and installed to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword

When i load it i can select the The Eugenics Wars scenerio but thats it.
More information im using win 7 64 bit
and downloaded star trek 4.31 setup and installed it to the above location

Right i did 3 more things i shut down steam
re downloaded the mod and ran it within the broken folder and that worked the mod is running.
looks good

Just 1 more thing if i run the short cut when steam is running i get the same error i have to quit steam and then click on the icon and then it will run just in case anyone else has issues like this and it logs me into steam

This mod was completed prior to team being available. So all paths including "Steam\etc "will be invalid (Civ 4 will not recognize them).
