Proof this generation sucks.

I remember I used to watch Reading Rainbow. That show rocked. And Mr. Rogers wasn't that bad either. But stuff like Barney and Teletubbies: :vomit:

It's just because he's dead and can't refute his "research" anymore.

Mr. Rodgers was so much better than those inane baby-talk kiddie shows like Teletubbies and Barney.

I watched Mr. Rogers as a kid and not because he made me feel special, but because he reminded me of my grandpa.

Whatever its fault, no generation can touch the Baby Boomers (the lamest generation) in terms of self-indulgence, irresponsibility, and damage done to the world.

Doesn't each generation think the next generation sucks/is going to hell/something bad?

This is just further proof of it :p

That includes teenagers of the 60's, right? ;)

I concur, Reading Rainbow was the cream of the crop, along with The Muppets.

QFT :)

My sole purpose for watching Mr. Roger's Neighborhood was his toy train; I was simply obessed with them.

I was all for the tiny model of the neighborhood. Especially when Mr. Roger's would visit other places and the model would illustrate the travel between home and place.

can we get you on the record as saying that a sense of entitlement is a political issue? cause i think it's pretty hilarious.

It depends on the specific issue, but you can tell by the context that the man was speaking of those things that are specific to socialism.

Being an "egotistical brat" has nothing to do with politics, but turning a non-political issue into one and then claiming your side is superior might just make you an egotistical brat:p

you know what show i watched as a little kid, the black sheep squadron i loved that show i called it the helicopter show :)

Duly noted. I've said it before and I'll say it again, kids' programming is dead (mentally). Nowadays, it's all visuals and product placement; God forbid actual content!

Funny you should mention Barney, actually. If ever there was a show to corrupt kids... I was channel-surfing a few years back and stumbled upon Barney saying: "A grandma and a nanny are the same thing!" :dubious:

Never forgot that, probably never will.

Ugh, that 'Sweet Sixteen' programme is, without a doubt, the worst television around at the moment. Including Big Brother. I watched it once, and the focus was on a girl who talked endlessly about the need to feel like a celebrity, and at the end was given a car, or something, and said she already had seven cars. (That last bit may not be true as I was stabbing my eyes out with a fork at that point, and wasn't really paying attention.)
