Quick Questions and Answers

I'm creating a scenario and placing barb encampments around the map. If these encampments are destroyed, will more appear in the future? Or if all of the encampments are destroyed, are they destroyed forever? This is a real issue, especially because I'm switching over from regular civ (where I understand most of the rules) into this strange scenario-editor where things seem foreign and wonky.

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

If I build a harbor to establish a TR with my capital, does my capital have to be coastal?

No, but you do need another coastal city with with a harbor that is connected to your capital with a road.

The CS quests could be based on a puppet's ability to build the wonder, in which case annexing that puppet may be the only way to build the wonder.

I would swear that CS have asked me to build those even though none of my cities had mountains in the second ring. I thought the tech being known was the only limiting factor to the quests being offered?

Do rivers always end at the coast in Civ 5? How do rivers correlate to terrain?

I just realized while starting a new game that looking at the rivers might be a good way to tell which way the ocean is, and which way mountains or hills are. This is very important when scouting on turn 0 or early-game scouting direction in general.

There are many times where I'd like to know where the coast is so I can check it out with my warrior and perhaps settle my capital there.

Yes, rivers always end at the coast. If you zoom in, you can actually see the water flowing toward the ocean. So if you spawn in the middle of a long river, you can be sure you are sending your warrior in the correct direction. This is a neat little tip that I learned recently from these forums, so I am pleased at the chance to pass it along!

In Moriarte's and PrimevalCiv's videos, when they hover a barbarian camp the tooltip lists things like "Manila wants you to clear this camp." However, my game does not do this (I'm also using Enhanced User Interface mod) . What do I have to do to get this function on my game?

If by "double posting" you mean posting the same question/message/content in multiple threads (either in the same forum or in multiple forums), no, that is generally viewed as spam. The two most relevant pieces of the forum rules are "Post in the correct forum" and "Duplicate threads are usually merged and the one first started will appear in the list of threads."

No I mean like in one thread saying something in one post and then posting again with something else(in the same thread).

@camikaze: thanks

That's really a matter of judgment. You can use the multiquote option to respond to two or more posts, but if the specific topics are too different, separate posts may lead to less confusion and/or facilitate more orderly discussion.

Or if you say one thing and then a few days later, have something new to add unrelated to the previous post and nobody has posted since then I don't think that's too bad.

Did they released a new patch because I've got a update?

What is the number version of the fall patch? If it is different then they uddated it.

The Conquest of the New World Deluxe Scenario has been released, free for all owners of BNW. So that's what would've downloaded. There is on patch, so your version number should be the same (.144, IIRC).

Yes, it applies to all foreign cities, whether they belong to a major civ (AI) or a minor civ (CS).

Is there a summary of all the new features in the Conquest of the New World Deluxe Scenario? I'd like to read about what's in it, but I probably won't have the time to actually play it for a while.

Can Great musicians, great generals etc cross other civ's borders into their land without any OPEN BORDER agreements?

I m asking because William sent a great prophet into my capital and i remember i didnt have any open borders with anyone. Also, i can send my prophet into Rio De Hanerio but my Xcom guy cannot cross into the city due to no borders opened

Great Prophets and Missionaries can cross closed borders, but Missionaries without open borders will suffer attrition. No other units can cross closed borders without triggering war.
