Rails not connecting to cities

Help? I'm playing the huge earth map, and contstantly, when I build rails next to captured cities, they don't connect to the city! What's more, the city doesn't have a rail at all, and, since it's a city, I can't railroad the tile!! So- Help? Please?

Does it cause a problem in play? Or does it just look wierd?

Yes, it causes a problem because I have to railroad around cities to get frictionless movement! Oh, and it's C3C 1.00 patch (1.22 patch won't read disc bug... ). But anyway, here's a save:

That is why they release patches - to get rid of bugs such as this.

He can't patch to 1.22, he gets the 'Insert CD' error.

Not sure, but this was an issue in Civ1. I used to rail the tile then build the city. This worked then, maybe it'll work now.

Thanks for pointing that out. I'll try and find a way to get the stupid patch installed after I finish this game.
