Did you ever hear about of Rock in Rio?

No? Rock in Rio is one of the biggest world festival of music with one purpose "For a Better World"!
Is to make that the world stop to think about what it can do, what actions, what to build for a better world!

Of cause I do. It's more or less the biggest concert in the world.
 
I've been to Rock in Rio 3, awesome stuff. Guns n' Roses, Foo Fighters, Neil Young, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Silverchair, Oasis... indeed the biggest rock concert in the world.

But "Rock in Rio Lisboa" has got to be the stupidest name ever. Either it's in Rio or in Lisbon. :crazyeye:

No, it sounds LOUD! I could see and most definitely hear it from my apartment, and even moved out on the second weekend to get some decent sleep (actually Santana on friday was good).

I won't go. Unfortunately it's probably coming to me again in 2008. :mad:
 
Yeah on wild on Rio + all of my travel books for rio I've been stocking up on for my big trip ...... a few more years give or take
 
I've heard about it, I'd love to get there someday. I think it was last year when they had my favorite band, Foo Fighters, in.

I know! If we're not rocking in Rio, why call it that? Call it Rock in Lisbon or something.

Either way, I wish I could go.
 
Why do America exist (irony) :scan: ? I am not being sarcastic or bad, but I am sad :( every time I read a cultural barbarism... I can't understand why do Americans never heard things so common to us!!!

One curiosity:
Rock in Rio began in Brazil, is going through Portugal, and will also start in Spain next year!
In the WorldCup of 2014 in Brazil, it will come back!

Americans are at a disadvantage because a lot of American events get shown on foreign TV while few foreign events are shown on mainstream American sets. Its one of the pitfalls of cultural imperialism.

To be honest, I only know about it because I study Portuguese in school, and because I have cousins who are in Brasil. Its never mentioned in American media outlets.
 
Got the Iron Maiden concert on DVD of it.
