Rome: What Could Have Been

This will be a scenario for Conquests. It is about an alternate history for Rome, which ends up affecting the entire world....

Here's the story behind it:
Rome had enjoyed its Pax Romana for many years. But alas, it was coming to an end. Roman authorities were hit hard with a huge deficit in spending. They formerly recieved large amounts of precious metals when they conquered new lands, so could afford to keep up their military, but they had not conquered new lands in quite some time. Political whistleblowers were predicting that the Roman Empire would collapse unless this was balanced out, either conquer more lands or spend much less. Some had the idea of producing more money, but luckily some knew this would cause inflation. The Romans never suffered from inflation, and instead, expanded their empire, while cutting entertainment spending. Instead of funding all sorts of entertainment, such as gladiator fights, for the poor to keep them from revolting, they created jobs. The government created many building and farming projects, and offered the jobs to the poor who roamed the major city streets. The government also had to worry about barbarians. Rome adopted a more democratic Imperialism, which emphasized protecting self. This helped with the development of a border security department in their military. They created many huge forts and walls and stationed troops throughout their borders. This worked for a while, but eventually, the Hunnic invaders won a battle and were able to traverse the Roman road, giving them a significant advantage in travel time. In response, the Roman legions sacked the Road destroying it in many places so as to disrupt the Huns. Roman generals gathered over half their entire army to combat the Huns in a bloody gorefest, which left hundreds of thousands of men dead, and the Romans victorious. History progressed in the Roman empire as gunpowder was introduced.
Empires settled around the great Romans. The Franks settled a small empire, while the Slavic nations settled an empire of their own. The Anglo-Saxons settled England, minus the Roman controlled territory. The Romans battled the Turks in the Eastern section of their empire, and won an astounding victory. The Turks, defeated, settled down to a country of their own. Islam was also spreading. The violent and hateful message of the Qur' an encouraged the conquest of a huge nation. Under Rome's section of Africa, the Islamists started a nation which engulfed the Arabian peninsula and a greater portion of Africa. The Islamic Nation was ruled with an iron fist and was able to survive, although at sometimes their survival was doubtful.
The dynasties of China arose into a very powerful nation indeed. Trade strengthened them. Russia started to form, of small, more independent parties. Then a gigantic force arose, they were called the Mongols, and their leader was called Ghengis. The Mongols, under Ghengis Khan, started their conquest of Russia, and headed towards China, detained partially by the great wall. But then a plague broke out. Transmitted to the Mongol hordes through rats, the Bubonic Plague. The Mongols lost their control of Russia instantly, and their war on China came to a standstill. China did an about face, from defensive to offensive. They charged the Mongol forces, and came out with an amazing victory. They wiped the floor with the Mongols, due to the fact that the Mongols were already considerably weakened. The Chinese had sent thousands of samurai warriors to victory, but while returning half of the warriors died themselves. The rest of the army was forced to stay out of of China. They had to fend for themselves in the mountains, eventually they all died. The Mongols died by the thousands and their encampments became smaller and smaller. They finally settled down, and the plague seemed to dissapear. The conquest over the Mongols had established China as a world power, for only the Chinese knew of the plague. They now posed a threat to the Roman Empire, which was quite a feet. With more violent weapons being invented constantly, war would be more deadly. As the Romans greedily eye the Chinese Dynasties, tension mounts in Eastern Hemisphere.

The Americas were not left out of the equation. The Aztecs fell during a bloddy civil war, but without European explorers, they were able to regain their former glory. The Mayans and Aztecs, close allies during a time, decided to expand their empires. They, together, marched triumphantly into into North America. The Comanche, Peublo, and Papago were the first to fight the union. They were defeated in humiliating back to back losses. The united army then marched along the western coast conquering the Hopi, Shoshone, Nez Perce, Coo, Pomo, Arapaho, Cheyenne, Apache and Osage indians. Then the Aztecs broke off, claiming North America for themselves. The Mayans continued singlehandedly defeating the Miami, Shawnee, Natchez, Cherokee and Deleware indians, along with the Iroquois league. This land, the Mayans claimed. The Aztecs began to fear the gigantic Mayan armies which had, without assistance, conquered so many tribes. Hatred broke out between the two nations. Unrest and battling back and forth was all too common. The Aztecs decided to finish this bickering, by declaring war on the Mayans. Remnants of the Teotihuacan and Toltec civilizations banded together with the Aztecs to fight the Mayans. The Mayans fought hard, and were rewarded with victories. The remnant tribes were all slaughtered and it was nation versus nation. But the Aztecs appealed to the Incans, pleading for help, promising them anything, and telling them the expansionist Mayans would be after them next. The great Incans listened, and traversed much of South America to face the Mayans with the Aztecs. Bloody, costly battles were fought and the losers were sacrificed. Eventually, the united armies of the Aztecs and Incans came out victorious. The Incan's military was key to victory, and had suffered monumental losses therefore. Out of hundreds of thousands that left, only few stragglers returned. People were outraged at the government and began to revolt. Without a military they could not put down any rebellions. As the Aztecs rebuilt and expanded further East on the North American continent, the former Incans territory was in turmoil. Many leaders came and went. Former Toltecs claimed power at one point, but no one person could restore the Incan empire. Then arose the sons of the great Pachacuti. They each gained huge followings, and warred intermittently. Eventually, they agreed to split empire into four, each person getting a piece. The Incan Empire was back although, not united always. As the Aztecs became a growing threat, the East, West, North, and South Incan nations banded to form the United Incan Empire. With tensions growing, the Incans boldly claimed the Eastern coast of North America. As of then the Aztecs had not officially claimed the area, but were occupying it. The former nations of the Iroquois league, and the Cherokee welcomed the more hospitable Incans. They rebelled against the occupiers, and the Incans moved in. Although it could be considered an Act of War, the Aztecs decided not to war with the Incans. Instead, tensions began to mount.
