Running civ3 on xp vm

I installed civ3 onto a xpsp3 machine. When I launch the game, I get this:

How do I go about fixing this?

This response doesn't help, but I've managed to run both a CD version and a GoG standalone download version onto my XP machine and i have never seen this warning.

Can you post the details you see when "clicking here"?
