Settlement range

Do settlements in this game only allow to harvest adjacent tiles(no longer fat cross, like in civ)even after the culture expands the borders or is it a bug?

You can only harvest adjacent squares.
I tend to build my colonies every third square, to take full advantage of the terrain, and to keep my colonies close to each other for defence.

The colony design follows the original Colonization rather than the Civilization series.

It limits the number of colonists that you can have in a colony.

Just like the original, I think you could only have like 20-25 colonists in one colony.

In the old game the reason was that too many colonists in a colony would crash the game.

I don't know a population limit in the new game but if there is, I'm sure it is not 20, since I had colonies with 21-22 pop.
