SGOTM 08 - Trash Team

Writing for CoL and library, run 2 scientists so that our first and second GPs are prophet for shrine and GS for philosophy bulb. That's the way I did it on Jadex's test game. Second city got confu, third city I put on marble island and it got taoism. Marble island is a nice place for a shrine. Second city with access to marble and a library built would be a spot for Glib (and ignore confu shrine until much later).

If we're on an island it gets a lot easier than if we're part of a continent. An early workboat (pre barb galleys) could check that out safely (and probably faster than a warrior dodging beasties).

Remconius is totally right: even though I played the set I'd forgotten we hadn't finished BW .

Copper, goody.

We should revolt to slavery only once we need it, in order to minimize the chance of a slave revolt.

Nice copper!

Capital is a potential powerhouse!

I am not sure about AH. We can work clams/gold/mines and fish a while. Let's focus on the task at hand.

Need to explore. Chop one forest. mine the gold.
WB>Warrior>WB>warrior

Tech to Wheel then connect the mined gold.

WB (clams) > chop WB (explo S around marble, then fish) > start warrior.

at size 4 whip worker, regrow size 5 asap - 10 turns (using cows + fish + clams it should be easy) while prod/chopping Warrior/warrior/galley (explo S)/WB (explo N) (1 or 2 forests max).

on size 5 stop whipping and pump settlers/worker (1 settler, 2 workers, repeat 2 times ;) )

having A LOT of workers early is a must have : jungle is close and we have many forest.
in the end we wont need too much workers, but we need them early : it is useless to found a city that wont be able to work any improve tile for a long time.

The copper and the cows are two very powerful tiles for the capital, our priority should be improving those two asap, so I vote for AH then wheel. AH also potentially reveals another powerful tile like grass horses.

How manyturns for AH at our current tech rate?
I'd like to have a look at a save if possible.

If anyone wants to experiment with capital development I've modified Jadex's savegame to include the plains hill and the copper (T21, BW just discovered).

ok, build order WB(chop)>warrior>WB>(size4)worker(chop/whip)>warrior>galley(until size5)>settler>workerx2

1st worker mine copper till AH done then work cow, 2nd worker to mine copper(need that 5:hammers: mine), WB work clam +4:food:+2:commerce:, 2nd WB explore S marble, work all food till size 5

revolt to slavery(-1t), start AH(7t)>Sailing(6t)>wheel assuming working gold for faster tech. I'm not sure which forest to chop first, hill/grassland will give faster mines.

Good plan Cripp. I suggest you play until the wheel comes in.

Will you send the first warrior to explore or the second?

Will our second city be the marble/2 fish? Then we need the galley ready before the settler.

Sorry I have been completely out of it the last couple of weeks. Real life has me completely swamped but I am near the end of the swamp period. Hopefully next week I can take a good look and start contributing.

Go trash team:):):)

I was going to send 1st out to explore, in case he gets killed. marble city I think it depend on what's to the west. one question is where/how many to chop, I don't want to mess anything up.

Side topic: Do ya'll use (shift-click) queuing? Because Firaxis disable the 'stickey-keys' so I can't use any(shift-ctrl-alt/key) clicking, just all by mouse. I'll start in the morning (around 8-9) and post.

I reckon that marblefish wouldn't be best site for second city because we're likely to need production early on and a pig-hill city will give us more production (and can be settled earlier if we don't need to build a galley first).

I agree let's have the second city near pigs (and ivory?)

3rd or 4th can be marble town (unless it has more food to the south... :D)

Just a note : marbletown has 2 sea food rsc.

It will be able to whip ALL its infrastrucure + some boats via whipping (this city MUST be whip every 10 turns) - at the beginning we can just use it as a WB factory.

but pig/ivory city is cool too.

my opinion is that we would rather get marble before starting the oracle. but no need having the marble earlier, so if we have time, settle 2N pigs first.

edit : only problem with pigs/ivory city is that we havent explored enough NW, so we cant do an optimum dotmapping for now.

Plan is to build a settler at size 4.
Tech to Masonry, followed by Myst, Medi, Priest.
