I don't know why the opponent didn't do that, I played as white. What I should have done (when I looked at the game later) was 10. Bxg5 rather than Nxa8, although the knight there would have died, so I probably wouldn't have won the way I did.

I don't see anything on the g5-square at move 10... Neither do I see a Bxg5 move at any point during the game. At move 10 the only two moves closely related are Bg5 and Bxf7 and neither looks that good...

ooh, look at this cool game! I think this is my best.

i think a Queen counts as a piece. doesn't it?

The term "piece" can also be used when talking about Knights and Bishops in my language. I believe the same is the case in English. In any case, I meant Knights and Bishops.

If you say "he won a piece", do you not mean he won a Knight or a Bishop?

Since things are kind of slow arond here I'll share a miniature of mine.

I'm black, 10 minutes + 3 sec per move.

I wasn't completely sure during the game if I had a strong attack or if my Queen was being trapped. Turned out I had a strong attack, even without white's last move blunder.

Not particularly dazzling but quick and to the point, I don't think I made any major mistakes.

I might as well post this baby from a rapid game (45 minutes each) I played recently, since I finally succeeded in playing a game in the great style of Mongols_rule and Narz. :D
It is not a masterpiece, and based on an old game by Olaf Barda, but perhaps some of you will find it amusing anyway.
Black's opening play is a bit too capricious, 7...Rc8 must be wrong, and 11...Qd7 is definitely a mistake, I think 11...g6 was necessary even if I prefer white after 12.Nh6. 12...Kd8 loses rapidly but I can't see any completely satisfactory alternatives anyway.14...Qxh3 is met by 15.Ne6#

Thanks a lot!
Did I mention that my favourite piece was always the white-squared bishop? To me that one is like the Persian Immortal in Civ3!
And in this game I had a Chinese Rider as well...

*gripe, gripe*

I would've won if it weren't for a stupid fascination with restrictive deflection tactics that left my rooks useless.

I haven't looked so closely at this messy game(there are improvements in the opening play for both sides), but it seems to me that 28..b5 is a grave error. Instead 28...Rxc1 29.Rxc1 Qe2+! 30.Bf2 Kd7 with the idea Rc8 seems to be a comparatively easy win, the two minor pieces should be no match for the black Amazon and passed e-pawn.
Quite nice attack, though. :goodjob:

Thanks for the advice. :)

I'm playing a rematch against him and this game is nothing like that one. I'll post the results when we're done.

This isn't the rematch, but I liked it - it's a bit of a modified Legall's mate.
