Hi folks,

...but rather unsuccessful. When I start the client it tells me that it could not delete steam.exe due to a lack of file permissions. On Valve's website (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9828-SFLZ-9289) there are many progs listet which "could interfere" with steam - so many I could not run Win7 if I would uninstall them...
Has anyone same or similar problems to restart Civ5 like me? Last monday everthing still worked like during the months before.

You probably don't even have most of those programs installed, and you should still be able to run windows perfectly fine if you did remove them. And anyway, if it was something interfering its probably only if you installed it in the last few days. Have you installed any programs recently?

Is this the error you are getting? https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5322-QYZB-5344

In fact, I didn't change anything in the last few weeks larger than colours of some fonts in my word processor... All of the progs mentioned on valve's site were installed many months ago, so I was really wondering about my PC's behaviour yesterday in the evening (MEST). And don't forget that until 1st August everything worked fine - perhaps a virus which started working on that 1st of month?

If you are on Win Vista/7, then you need admin rights for updates.

Sure? Until the last update a few days or weeks ago it was sufficient to start the client, then came the update message, after all the prog restarted - and that was all. Normally I'm logged in as a normal user, just to prevent Windows and other software to undermine my trust in them...
