steam installed mods dont load

I have civ 5 through Steam and have always used the mod workshop there to manage the mods. It has been easy and worked no problem until now. I just got a new computer installed civ 5 and all the mods I was running on my old computer however when I go to run the mods they dont load the game just starts up vanilla. I have no idea does anyone know what to do? I'm running windows 10 on a nice machine hardware wont be the issue but maybe windows 10 is being weird? idk
