people probably already know the answer and i cant think of a better forum to ask it in but why does it sometimes say sticky at the top of some forums and then have the conversations beneath

Sticky Threads are important threads that always stay on top of that forum so they are easy to find.

But sadly you haven't noticed the edit function which allows you to reduce short posts, by allowing you to combine them.
