Hello, nice to meet you guys!

I'm totally new here and also a newbie for this game.

I started to play Arab, and can you give me some strategic recommendations or guides, like what religion concept to choose?

Or a useful post for this?

Thank you!

Hey there, welcome to the forums! In my experience, the Arabs are best suited for Diplomatic victory. There special ability allows for more money from caravans, & it's likely that you'll spawn in the desert, so lots of resources, especially with the bazaar. The extra luxuries & strategics should be sold for 240 &/or 45 gold a piece(although you can sell strategics 2gpt individually). Your religion should be money focus so the general build for me is:

Desert Folklore/Goddess of Festivals
Tithe/Church Property
Mosques/Pagodas
Religious Building/Religious Community
Religious Texts
(Charitable Missions)

With all the money flowing in, buying city-states should be no problem! Although Camel Archers should be used if Greece, Austria, or Venice happens to be in the game...
Hope that helped :)

Welcome to the forums! I happen to love playing as Arabia, so with luck I can offer you some good advice:

1) Arabia is best when going for either a Diplomatic or a Domination Victory; what route you choose is largely left up to you. Obviously, their UA and UB are skewed towards getting tons and tons of Gold and buying your way to a Diplo Victory, but their Camel Archers are possibly the best units in the game and can easily devastate your opponents. What Victory you go for can also be affected by who your competitors are: if you have Mongolia and/or The Huns in the game, you might not want to go Domination now that capital-sniping isn't a valid tactic, while if Alex is in the game going Diplomatic might be harder because he'll snap up every City-State around. Of course, you can always hybridize the two and take out a few capitals before playing nice with the rest of the Civs (as long as you don't totally wipe out the Civs you do attack...)

2) @Silverman has made a good "build" for your religion. Getting Desert Folklore is definitely the most important thing there, as that will get you a ton of Faith from your cities (as you should spawn in or near a desert.)

3) Social Policy-wise, you're fairly flexible. Arabia is best when taking Liberty and expanding to get lots of different Luxury Resources (more Gold!), but you can go Tall with Tradition and focus on working Merchant specialists in your cities. You might want to consider taking a couple policies in Piety to get some extra Faith rolling in, too. Later on, take Commerce for even more gold and possibly some of Patronage if you're going for a Diplomatic victory. As your Ideology, go Order if you built wide or Freedom if you built tall.

4) Have fun; Arabia is so flexible (and their music is so good :p) that you'll enjoy yourself immensely with 'em.

Arabs are really good for ANY victory condition.

They have a top tier UB : It gives them a free copy for each local copy of a luxury present.
Prior to BNW that was 240 gold every 30 turns even from your secondary luxury while maintaigning the happiness. And if you have 2 of the same type of luxury present : With the UB, that is now 4 copies. etc. It is now slightly nerfed to the DOF requirement for gold and the AI only willing to pay 7 GPT without it which is only 210 gold; but you can still exchange it 1:1 with another luxury.
So this is a major cash bonus that can easily be converted as needed into a happiness one.

Their UA provides extra local Oil. This is great for domination since you need Oil for everything. And again if you don't need all of it, you can sell that as well. 45 gold per copy one time. Or if you are willing to micro a deal into 1 copy in its own deal, then 2gpt for exactly 1 strategic resource.

UU is a very fast mobile ranged unit: This is very good for its time. It does suffer somewhat in that it promotes to a mobile melee unit and so the early promotions won't do much good.

It has a pro-Desert bias: Which means Desert Faith. (When you see a message saying that an unknown civ has founded Islam as its the first religion, you can bet dollars to donuts that either AI Arab or AI Morocco is in the game)

All victory conditions in BNW come down to you need science.

Going Science, you need science since you need most of the information era techs to complete the space craft.

Going Diplomatic, you need science since post fall-patch you now pretty much need Globalism, which is in the last row. (And one player either has to advance into the Information era or alternatively half of all players into Atomic era just to convert the World Congress into the UN.)

Going Cultural, you need science since the biggest tourism boosts are in the Information era. In addition, its difficult to build any world wonder that has a tech that you weren't first in the world to, including the theming bonuses.

Going Domination, you need to get units outclassing the AIs, which again is science.

Gold bonuses get converted very easily into science [cash buying a science building that would take a long time to hand build]

Thanks for the help!
Especially your comments for the religion is really great.:)

Thanks. Well, I'm working on diplomatic victory, because I came to realize I have a lot of money to take over(? or be united with) the state cities. Maybe Next time I can try domination. Thank you again!
