That's one of the reasons I tend to prefer temples over monasteries. They last much longer. Usually there is a brief window between getting up monasteries and SciMethod (so much other stuff to do so can't prioritise monasteries). Overall the combo is quite nice, though, and doesn't obsolete until Computers. Only relevant if going to space, otherwise they 'never' obsolete.
Not something I'd try to build myself, but it's nice if can capture them. And AP temples are usually worth building anyway, and with this you get +2
