Note that there is no affinity upgrade for....

Workers.
Colonists.
Explorers.

They get left completely behind by the fervor that grip their factions completely and retain their useless tier 1 traits. They have yet to adapt to the new world they're on.
 
How do you upgrade workers? They still have bonuses from wonders and building quests...
explorers I agree, need some beefed up, now that we're encouraged to explore.

Harmony Workers: Won't be attacked by the bugs.

Supremacy Workers: +10 strength when attacked by bugs.

Purity Workers: Gain Hovering.

Harmony Explorers: Can leash the bugs.

Supremacy Explorers: Has short ranged teleport.

Purity Explorers: Gain Hovering.

Harmony Colonists: Can be escorted by the Xeno of planet.

Supremacy Colonists: Gets a short ranged teleport.

Purity Colonists: Also gains Hovering and looks fabulous with all those pink floatstones. :lol:
 
100% agree, especially explorers, now that they made them viable for the whole game, they should upgrade as well.
Once again I really find that they haven't integrated the expansion into the base game very well. The virtue tree doesn't even integrate any of the new stuff.
 
Yes, but like other units they should change appearance and form when upgraded. Worker starts off as he is (a human piloted hydrolic machine) and becomes:
Harmony: worker becomes an alien-hybridized drone of some kind. (heals in miasma and ignores terrain movement costs. Also aliens won't attack it).
Supremacy: Human operated suit becomes an autonomous worker drone (self repairs and has extra movement speed)
Purity: Worker becomes a remotely operated battlesuit. (can defend itself in combat and gets a slight boost to improvement creation speed).

And of course hybrid affinity units could be interesting as well
 
This is a great idea - workers from each affinity should be able to construct things that are unique to that faction.

How would you upgrade colonists though?
 
Workers shouldn't be upgradeable, they have enough to do without introducing Affinity-specific benefits into the mix.

Explorers, sure. Still need to find the time to update my mod. Not even sure if Hybrid units are exposed in the new code.
 
Sure. Why not? But what would you have given up to make way for this new feature?
