This will probably seem like the silliest question to all you CIV fans but here it goes hehe.
Now, I know that building your cities on tiles with all 'three materials' is the best thing to do (right?).
However, my question is: What EXACTLY does producing more food, commerce, and mining do for the overall game?
I am VERY new to CIV - just bought CIV 4 few days ago. Love the concept and how the game plays. This is more about curiosity.
I just want to know in what ways food, commerce, and mining (and other resources) affect my empire.
Do they speed up unit production? Keep citizens from starving? Make citizens happier? etc,....
All answers will be appreciated, thanks!
