What happens when a worker discovers ruins?

Theres a ruins near my borders, and I was wondering if the worker can get any special upgrades from ruins, or if I should just let my scout/borders collect it.

IIRC, if a worker rolls an upgrade, you get "The ruins are empty"

It'd be cool if they upgraded into some kind of Militia unit that improved tiles and had the strength of a warrior.

i think its impossible any civilian unit to get upgrade from a ruin.

Settlers can get upgrades from ruins, into archers iirc. Easy way to ruin earlygame for you if you don't have time for another

Those leaders will always be either Shaka, Napoleon or Attila, even if they're already in the game

Settlers lack a GoodyHut entry, so they thankfully do not upgrade. jlim201 is correct, no civilian has one.
