What's wrong with my units?

So I just booted this game up, and I got this:






I tried lowering the graphics quality from the options menu, but no dice.
I'm pretty sure my graphics card isn't dated, and
I can run Civ4 flawlessly, so that's not the trouble.

I'm also using a Vista, if that means anything.

This just started happening to me last night when I booted up Beyond the Sword. I've been playing it with absolutely no problems and my laptop is more than enough to run the game, it was flawless until suddenly not only would my units not appear but I could select them, city names would also not be showing up.
