World Congress question.

For the first time due to not starting near any city states at all I have not been made the host of the World Congress.

My question is, what happens when the host civilization is wiped out? Does the host revert to the civ with the next highest amount of votes? Or does it go to a vote for a new host the next turn?

Don't know, I've never seen the host wiped out.
Remember that there is normally a new vote for host when the world congress advances eras.

I've wiped out the host, and in that case I became the host. I had the 2nd most votes before conquering.

No. more likely most votes is the host. (Most votes after host dies that is)
