    Incan Rush

Ican have become my favorite race. I don't usually bother rushing though ... too busy expanding and building up. UUs just don't appeal to me; sure they're often powerful, but it's the other advantages of Ican that are interesting. Aggressive; free promotion and half cost barracks...

Answered: How to unload units from an army in PTW!

My US$0.02, it should be a feature to unload a unit from an army, not a bug. With the cost of an army to build (and the expense of getting the first leader, plus then building the army-triggered wonders), it seems extremely punative to disable players from upgrading their armies as they advance...

I never spend any money on entertainment

Vanilla is my favorite flavor, actually. I like chocolate, of course, but vanilla is smooth and creamy and delicious. mmmmmm (though when it comes to games I vastly prefer to play "unmodded" vanilla there too. I like to play the game the devs put out and beat/learn that, not a mod I or...

    Can you survive without oil?

Yes the resource problems are a serious issue to fun when playing vs humans. Because, of course, a human civ player will keep his foot on your throat at all times (like we all do vs AI). So you could find yourself stuck in a game vs humans where you're GOING to lose due to no...

GOTM9 - The Japan Campaign site is now active!

--- The Army decision 1. I have not in the past observed armies that would retreat from combat rather than fight to the death and this problem concerned me in this example. I had factored the retreat ability into the combat plan. --- The retreat option appears to work with mobile armies as...

    Destroying bombers ?

I never thought about using fighters on bombing runs to go in ahead of my bombers to draw engagements with opposing fighters. That's a good trick. I'm a fan of bombardment and prefer bombers since their operational range is much easier to use tactically and strategically than hauling one-move...

    Help with Great Leaders.

Also remember Leader chances only happen from Elite victories vs other civs, not Barbarians. Barbarians can only train your troops to Elite, but once at 5hp you should cycle other troops in for experience and use the elites for real war.

GOTM9 - The Japan Campaign site is now active!

Excellent work Cracker. Not only did you have complete thought paths worked out for what you wanted and how to go about it, but you also were able to clearly illustrate same with your writeup. A+ from me ... that and a buck fifty gets you a small cup of coffee at Starbucks. ;) I agreed...

    Questions on Tanks

JFC!!!! I get so tired of seeing people harp and harp and harp and H-A-R-P about how technology should mean insta-uber-win in combat. Get a life, calm down, smoke something, watch a film. Geez. The combat is balanced. That you will *O-C-C-A-S-I-O-N-A-L-L-Y* lose on some odd rolls a...

    Need some advice on strategy!

You're in the Modern Age and your score is only 330? That seems remarkably low to me, I'm generally well past 2K score when I hit Modern, and normally win somewhere in Modern. I've been playing my games on Regent. Regardless, score is the average of your score each turn. This means no...

the AI and their crystal balls

----- Why don't they just make it so the computer can only "operate" within areas it has cleared the fog of war. Areas that are still black are completely unknown to the computer and he should consider those areas for exploration only. In grey areas, he should only use his knowledge of enemy...

    emperor games are IMPOSSIBLE

Its goofy because it’s the exact opposite strategy of a builder. I prefer to grow and develop my civ to magnificent heights, full of appeal and power. That’s just not possible on Emperor, I don't believe, with the crushing disadvantage you have against the AI in pure production numbers. Also...

The conquest of large cities: how to solve the cultural backlash?

I'll echo mostly what I've read above. I never leave stacks in captured cities, EVER. I used to leave them inside to heal up, now I return them home to a friendly city, or leave them in a security fortification to heal via Battlefield Medicine. The only units that enter captured cities are...

    Crippling the AI's research capability

That's great Bork. How is Diety level strategy relevant to Science Brokering? Most agree it probably won't work on Diety; the crushing numerical advantage the AI is given for its efforts rules it out in all liklihood (its a 60% production and commerce advantage for the AI isn't it?). Most...
