    New England: A Vanilla Story

Unfortunately, I have lost my savefile for this game a while ago, so completing this is likely not going to happen. Still, thanks for the support! I think there's value in playing the vanilla version. Mods are fun (and neccessary for Civ 4 Col IMO), but showing off the odd quirks and flaws with...

    New England: A Vanilla Story

The Early 1500's: A New World Washington was surprised one morning by a local native party making it's way by the colonies. While, due to proximity, it wasn't exactly uncommon, it was a rather large party then usual. When he saw Cunhambebe himself, Washington quickly made his way down to the...

    New England: A Vanilla Story

1492: The Beginning Of A New Age The Age Of Exploration was an age of overseas exploration and expansion. While the European world knew that that the Earth was globular, and while there are old stories of Vikings settling in far-away lands, the dream of another world; a new world was simply a...

    New England: A Vanilla Story

Civilization 4: Colonization is an underrated gem in the Civ series. Even if people still play Civilization IV, they still skip right over Colonization. When I got Civilization 4 for myself, I got the complete package which came with Colonization as well, and despite sinking far more time into...

Who would be interested in DoC RAND?

Considering I first suggested it, I would enjoy a modmod or the option to play DoC Rand. Of course, like everyone else, I would rather more work on the main mod before starting on this option!

    Suggestions and Requests

Interesting! Thanks for answering the question! Yeah, I don't expect it ever to be a thing but it's nice to think about.. I might do it if I ever become interested in Civ IV modding.

    Suggestions and Requests

This is a long stretch, but my favorite RFC mods are DoC (seeing as I'm posting in this forum :P) and Rand. The question is.. would it be hard to make a mod for RFC Rand to add in DoC features? I suppose stuff like wonders and buildings are easy, but nation spawns are where it changes.. and now...

The case for Tobacco (not the musician)

Implying Civ is the bastion of accurate history. Jokes aside, Slavery is kinda tasteless for a resource, especially one you find on the map. Slavery might be better as a civic (look at Civ IV) or in the form of an ability as in the Aztec's unique ability to transform killed units into...

The case for Tobacco (not the musician)

Never played the first one, but it's pretty addictive. I just wish it had a bit more depth; oh, and it didn't only come with 4 colonies. Why not portugal, when they colonized all of SA when the Dutch took.. Pennsylvania and new york, before getting kicked out. Why not Russia, who along with the...

The case for Tobacco (not the musician)

Well, I just had to chime in on this. Tobacco has been in a Civ game before; Civ 4 Colonization. You know, the game that is basically a total conversion mod sanctioned by Firaxis everyone only remembers because it was packaged with the Complete Edition of Civ IV. Thus, I think we can make a...

What would you say is the easiest civ to play in DoC? Hardest?

I'd had to say the African nations and pre-columbian american civs are the hardest. Half the time you will be behind on tech, have to survive flips and conquerors, and colonies.

    Vassal System Overhaul

I was just playing Ottomans on Heir, the lowest difficulty level, and Byzantine would not surrender even after I steamrolled their cities. They only really had Athens left, and my army outnumbered them. "We're doing fine by ourselves."

    What you HATE in DOC?

I do agree with both of y'all; I'd suggest giving Italy some breathing room on the sea if they ever want to complete their third UHV. In theory, Venetia is supposed to give you that breathing room but often times enemy territory stands in the way of leaving that little sea. Maybe a bit more...

    What you HATE in DOC?

Until then, I do believe all of the boot is at least historical so your stability won't plummet if you decide to reunite Italy 900 or so years beforehand.

    Harappans and Native Americans?

Make Harrapans/Native Americans like the Seljuks, except defensive. A minor civ that is near impossible to be diplomatic with, that takes up most of north america. This provides a trade off, similar to Col: settle in Nativeless areas where it is likely there is no good resources, or take the...
