Money must have been the factor in my case then. By the time I Shaka decided to offer me his city I was generating over 600GPT. Shaka was also the lowest scoring Civ in my game at the point.
Nope, never. I often try to demand cities if I am hammering them into oblivion as part of peace treaty and they never ever budge. I have even offered 10,000 gold to Civ who I had almost annihilated and they still didn't budge. I've never ever seen it.
I found it especially strange because I...
In the 3 years since I've been playing Civ V, since vanilla through to GnK I have never ever seen this happen.
This was in my first game of BNW, Morocco asked me to join his war against Shaka (he was on another continent and posed no threat to me but I wanted to keep up good relations with...
I must admit it still frustrates me when the AI doesn't accept a DoP without me handing over one of my cities, even if I've got the upper hand and only want a DoP because having him attack me is annoying.
Once I had beaten a pain in the behind Ghandi into submission I sent a never ending supply of Great Artists to his last remaining city and culture bombed it until his capital was a single tile within my expanding border.
I have a screenshot somewhere.
In a recent game I had Greece declare war on me just before throwing all of his money at my 2 closest City State allies that were both militaristic. With his troops and the now advancing city state troops he had essentially set in motion a large pincer movement.
It really took my by surprise...
Dumbest thing I see the AI do, and I see it every game is declare that my military might is weak and DoW me despite being the richest, most advanced a well defended Civ the world will ever see.
Why can't they process the fact that I can start spewing out defensive units almost indefinately if...
Let me start off by saying welcome to the forums Beleeive!
Now this might be slightly off topic but I feel that when the player begins to "game" the systems things become less interesting. It's obvious that the AI is not fantastic at anything really but if you focus on that as an issue you're...
I was just about to write the same thing, Genghis has been a total bro in most games that I've played with him.
It's Alexander & Dido who trouble me the most.
I forget the name of the tech (Economics?) that improves the :c5food: yield from farms and what not, but if you're playing as William and you have built Polders, when you research that tech all of the Polders bloom with colorful flowers. It looks fantastic. :D
