Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Hi!
Sorry, but I have rather general another PM / Forum question - when trying to send a completely normal reply to one PM conversation (about five snippets of the previous reply and short texts by myself) I got the error message:
"Your content can not be submitted. This is likely because your content is spam-like or contains inappropriate elements. Please change your content or try again later. If you still have problems, please contact an administrator."

Is there some doc to elaborate what part of the reply triggered that reaction? Or how would I go about contacting an administrator on that, is there a standard procedure?

Thanks and best wishes,
Kathy

It appears that you have not yet reached the minimum number of posts required to have PM privileges. This is a measure intended to prevent new accounts from joining for the purpose of posting spam in the forums or via PM.

Hi!
Thanks for the reply! What's curious is that I wrote quite a lot of PMs in that conversation already, but this message only comes up now ...
Though, thinking about it I think it did occur some time back once already ... but normally it does not, so I guess theres something the algorithm does not like? :)
Cheers, Kathy

That does sound odd.

Perhaps @Petek or @leif erikson could look into this for you.

@KathleenArgent : Your PM might have contained a word or phrase that triggers our anti-spam measures. For obvious reasons, I can't list all such phrases in public. Please reply in this thread and then try to send your PM again. Let me know if the problem persists.

Hi!

Thanks! There not being a complete list I completly understand of course :)
Funny thing is - about 70 minutes ago I played around and tried to send the first part of the PM - that worked just fine. And then I sent a second PM containing the second part - that worked too. All the same phrases and all.
Unless one of you had already changed some settings or so?

Anyway, I hope it does not come up again, if it does I'll come crying for help again :lol:

Best, Kathy

@Takhisis,

I successfully created a new BBCode tag named post. The syntax is

[post=post#]Description of post goes here[/post]

This link will continue to point to the post in question, even if the post is moved. It even works if the post is deleted (but you must have sufficient permissions to view deleted posts). Evidently you need to enter some text for the description (and the same is true for the <thread> tag).

The new tag also is described here.

Please reply here if you have any questions or run into any problems.

Let's try a link to your post just then…

Edit: it appears to work! Huzzah! Thanks, pete.

@Valka D'Ur .

Regarding your failure to receive email notifications from certain forums, try this:
  • Select the Watched Forums option near the top of most pages.
  • Place a check mark in the box next to a forum for which you're not receiving emails.
  • From the drop-down menu labeled With selected ..., select the option Enable email notification.
  • Click on Go.
Please let me know if this doesn't help. I realize that certain forums might take awhile to check.

"Watched Threads" is not immediately visible for me. It's in a drop-down menu next to "Account Upgrades" and the menu has "..." as its heading.

I've followed the steps, and I guess we'll know if it works the next time somebody appeals an infraction.

Thanks. :)

Is there a way to disable email notifications for PMs/conversations? If there is I can't seem to find it.

Ok, so which one of these is the "receive email notifications for conversations" option? I see several for watched threads, media, albums, and categories but not conversations.

Hi!

I've joined the forum to play a game in the Mafia subforum and I'm not sure when it will start, but I was wondering if there's any way to expedite the restrictions set on a new member? Is it just waiting five days/having five posts?

Thanks in advance!
