    CCM2 Epic Mod

Actually this slowness is observed in many downloads coming directly from civfanatics, and it's normally one or two magnitude faster from other sites. If we were back in 2006 I wouldn't say a word, but the connections improved vastly since that, that's why I found it strange :) Ultimately I have...

I swear I will check these last replies next time :) Thanks again!

    Medieval European Mod II

The "Download Now" is a link to an external site which masquerades itself as a button :) Nevermind, I didn't check your previous message that's true and that link brings up some goodies. Thanks!

    CCM2 Epic Mod

The download is worknig, but its unfortunately incredibly slow, it takes 2 days to download the mod which is not so ideal in a non-p2p scenario. Has anyone have an explanation for this or an advice how to get it properly?

Rhye's of Civilization - the fastest loading mod Expanded - PART II

Does anyone play this game nowadays? Let alone this mod? :) I have unfortunately lost all the mods that I have downloaded years ago. The download link is not worknig unfortunately. Do you know if there's a chance to still get this mod?

Technology "Can't be traded" and "Great Libarary"

You will get the non-tradeable tech. I use this feature in my scenario, it makes GL a hugely powerful wonder :)

    Defensive Units

I think it's better if I choose when to battle with whom. Not the AI. Instead of defensive units I try to eliminate all invaders before they get a chance to do damage. I rarely build solely defensive units for garrisoning purposes and I think most players do likewise. Of course there are...

    Jury Awards Thread

Congratulations to all the award winners! :king: They are all well deserved.:goodjob: I am probably not much more than a lurker most of the time and post rather occasionally, but I have browsed the database for countless hours searching for units, graphics, scenarios and modding discussions and...

    Impassable Waters for "wheeled" units

Its quite neat feature. I have been using it for a long time. My curraghs, galleys, catapult ships and sails cannot enter even into sea squares :) Also you can tweak with movement costs of the three types of water squares. For example set coast to cost 3MP, set "ignore movement cost" for...

    New Member Intro

Then you are a bit better player than me :) I like building up my civilization and lately I have been practicing efficient build orders and mastering the lux slider. Anyways, I rarely get off from my continent before the industrial ages (in terms of civ advanves of course :)). As a consequence I...

    Barracks, Temple or Granary?

Always temple. Preferably marketplaces before temple in core, but in the far out cities where there are no roads yet temple first. I never build barracks or granaries early in the game, they do not seem to worth the effort. Maybe barracks is necessary in special situations if you have just...

    New Member Intro

Surprisingly many newcomers and lurkers. And my perception was that people barely know this particular installation of the genre and even less does play it. CivIV has rectangular layout, Civ5 has hexes. Although Civ5 only allows 1 unit per tile. Nevertheless, these ones are very different...

Why does nearly everyone here prefer civdos over win civ?

I had always been playing with CivDOS since my little childhood. Man, that time beating Chieftain was a great challenge and Warlord seemed to be impossible... I just do not feel the need to change, maybe its the memories, my history with this version. I didn't know CivWin exists until I got...

    Victory & elimination problem

Elimination can be tweaked to allow multiple city losses up to a certain number. See here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=2000582&postcount=5 In my opinion the option is viable only in single player with a pre-set scenario or multi player.

AI use of stealth attack / unique buildings

Indeed it does. Even better the AI frequently attacks if it has a couple of units in position. When testing my mod I found myself in the situation where I have two spearmen guarding the city (good defense, but poor attack) where I collected my catapults (good attack, but poor defense). It was so...

    Victory & elimination problem

Welcome to CFC Angantyr999! The reason for your problem is that you most likely have checked the "Elimination" flag at the start of the game. Checking the regicide (mass regicide) flag gives you king unit(s) and if a civ loses all your king units the game is over for them, but individual...

    Middle Ages Scenario

Basically thats all. Pretty quick actually if you do not intend to create many units. Oh and be sure to use the "civpedia and icons" feature in Steph's editor. It automatically checks for the necessary files if you select a unit/building/tech on another editor window. This feature alone makes...

    Middle Ages Scenario

That is correct. Although the division of separate files are a little messy: for example samurais and many wwii units are in the ptw/extras/XXX folder and all the civpedia icons are stored among the general conquest civpedia icons (conquests/art/civilopedia/icons).

Forced resettlement.. what is the concept behind it?

On a side note, I don't think forced resettlement should be equivalent to a holocaust (but surely this was the creators idea). It wouldn't be totally unreasonable to give forced resettlement to the anarchy periods instead of the governments (maybe totalitarian governments could still retain it)...
