Yes, its a similar game although I would say that the focus of Victoria II is even more on diplomacy and economics than Imperialism.

Btw. the game is now somewhere in beta and should come out this year or so. It will be interesting to compare Xenonauts to the new Firaxis X-COM and see who's got it better.

Hi, Does anybody remember the Imperialism strategy games from FrogCity/SSI from 1997 and 1999. They were great turn based strategy at their times, however aren't sold anymore and the first one especially features poor graphics. Also diplomacy, economical models and battle were not always...
