    Aztec Challenge

This is a simple challenge that I made up when I was bored You must produce literally nothing but Jaguars for as long as possible. You must also avoid Bronze Working so that Jaguars can be produced for as long as possible. Forget about gold, happiness, culture, etc. Then, at some point, you...

Civilizations should give forgiveness at some point

How come warmonger penalties remain with you for the entire game? Let's say I fought a bit too much at around 3000 AD, and now everyone hates me for it. By modern times, everyone would still hate me! Thousands of years later, diplomacy would still be terrible, just because our ancestors...

    Is Civ4 worth trying?

I'm a bit bored of Civ5 right now, and I'm considering trying Civ4. I already have a copy of that game on my steam account (I got it as a gift). Should I give Civ4 vanilla a shot? EDIT: Tried it, blown away!

Considering moving back to Gods and Kings?

I'm not wild for trade routes, I don't care about culture victories, and the World Congress becomes less interesting in the late game (as more and more important options are chosen). The only things I would really miss are the Ideologies and the new civs. Should I move back to G&K, and...

Fall of Rome for me!

    Defending Polynesia on Deity

A bit bored of normal Civ 5 games, I decided to play recklessly on Deity. The goal wasn't to win, or conquer vast swathes of land, but just to have fun. I played as Polynesia on a large earth map, with standard speed and 22 civilizations. The result was an epic battle royale, in which I defended...

"Dumbest" decisions in your civ career?

We all have a bit of noob left in us... sometimes, we make decisions that make the AIs seem like tactical geniuses. Post them here! Once, a super powerful nation planted a citadel and took one tile of my territory. I lost a luxury resource, sending my civilization further down into the pit of...

    The Kasbah

Pros/Cons of the Kasbah? Does it make desert tiles worthwhile?

    New Tile Idea: Taiga

A hybrid between forest and tundra, giving a mere +1 production and no food. However, produces +2 science upon discovery of Biology. When cleared, taiga tiles would give a larger production boost than normal forest tiles. The aesthetics for taiga tiles would be similar to that of forest, but...

    Ecology Idea

Ecology should grant the ability to replant forest and jungle. It's a simple but harmless idea. Thoughts? EDIT: By the time Ecology is unlocked, spending several turns to replant a forest is a lot. Turns become more valuable later on, wouldn't you say? But I do think it should take longer than...

Those who have played Civ5 for thousands of hours: how do you remain interested?

Civilization 5 has been my favorite game for the last three years. I own all of the DLCs and expansions, but now I'm losing interest. I've played all of the scenarios several times, I do well on all difficulties, and I've used every civilization at least once. I'm getting tired of Civilization...

Is this strange? [Playing Game after every civilization is gone]

When I win a Domination Victory, I often like to perfect the world after the game is over. I improve every tile, clear the fallout, grow large cities, and change the world in the way I want it. Is there anybody else who does this? BTW: I usually do this on Earth maps.

Bringing a Civilization Back From the Dead

Let's say one of your neighbour's got completely bamboozled by Shaka. Later in the game, you destroy Shaka, and liberate your defeated neighbour's capital. This neighbour was guarded at the time he was destroyed, but when he is brought back to life from complete annihilation, he is still...

    Three best Ancient/Classical Era Wonders?

IMO, it's Stonehenge, Great Library, and Hanging Gardens.

    Why don't wonders produce tourism?

Each wonder should produce +1 tourism, at least. It's only realistic - why would men and women from around the globe rush to see a great work of art, while they wouldn't go to see a world wonder...

    Transcontinental Railroad (Wonder Idea)

Automatically builds a railroad from your western-most city to your eastern-most city. +2 pop in every city that it crosses through. Suggestions?

    Best UB?

My favorite is the Stele, because I it's like a monument and two shrines, and yet it's no more expensive than a monument. While other civilizations are racing to build a Shrine and found a pantheon, Ethiopia is getting double the faith boost and a good deal of culture.
