Pretty sure arqebusiers are exclusively to counter the remnants of melee infantry, and that's it. In real life I think I recall reading that arqebusiers weren't really that much better than other means of the time. So take them as being a side-grade.

Well that's pretty much the dumbest thing I've read on these forums. Of course it's still cheating. The difference is that it's not WRONG, which is what cheating in multiplayer would be.

It's not. The separatism makes it a lot more interesting, and adds so much flavour when segments of an empire break off and form their own. You just didn't wanna get used to it! That's fair, but don't go bad-mouthing my favourite mechanic ;P

oh I guess that would be it. Yeah, I'm playing with the 2k Terrain pack & higher settings. I get that the OP warns to lower settings, but I really didn't think it would cause this KIND of a problem, which seemed more like an incompatibility than a memory-related error. Shows what I know :p

And that being one of the best options is not good gameplay at all, is it? :P Blows my mind that the game is balanced around the 2nd least rewarding way to play the game. In your opinions, what else stands out as being rather unbalanced for Marathon or huge maps?
