Ok, so here's a mystery to me, but a pleasant one. I purchased Civ Colonization in the AppStore. I had hoped for Civ5, but this was cool as well.
It strikes me that Civ Col (on the same engine as Civ4) is running so much smoother than Civ4 ever did! It seems to me that they did a extra good...
i just bought a new iMac 2Ghz with 128MB graphic-card. the increase in speed with Civ4 is just amazing to a G5 1.8 with a 64MB graphics.
i expected it to be faster, but this blew me away.
. . . when u send them out of ur cultural borders. i didn't know that, but learned this sailing in and out of my borders. my goldsurplus changed immediately. is this true for all units?
i founded Buddhism (i built the shrine) and i discoverd libaralism. normally i would switch to free religion imedialtely, but now i'm in doubt: do i loose my income from all buddist cities when i switch to free religion?
i'm a pretty experienced Civ 3 player (monarch), but i'm confused 'bout a few things in Civ 4.
- leaders have special qualities (like organized). what exactly do they do?
- leaders favour a civic. how stupid is it to NOT choose that civic? Catherina favours Heriditary Rule, is it a bad idea to...
it's really annoying. civ complete doesn't seem to like huge maps very well! right now i'm playing a game on a huge map and when i kill a king of my opponent, the game crashes on me.
between turns something strange happens: when i click on the civ icon in the dock, it says the game doesn't...
maybe i'm doing something wrong, but i don't win civ complete when i build 10 wonders! with that option 'on'. did anybody else notice this? or am i missing something?
as i am moving up to emperor (civ3), i wanna make the most of everything i have obviously.
here's the thing: during the start of the game it doesn't seem to matter if i put the science slider on 10% or 50%. in both cases it takes 40 turns, but when u put the slider on 50% u spent more money on...
today i was playing a game with the greeks and once i discovered 'republic' i switched government. the next turn he asked me what type of government i wanted. usually this takes several turns . . . .
i noticed a difference in the duration of anarchism between 2 types of government before, but...
Solar plant, nuclear plant, coal plant, etc. I'm wondering. Does it make sense to build more than one plant in a city? or do plants replace other plants? i allways thought it would make no sense (productionwise) to build more than one plant in a city. am i right?
i asked/mentioned this before: do some civ's have a bonus when it comes to the outcome of a battle? i'm pretty sure some do. right now i'm in a game with the france. my 10th or so in a row and again and again fights end absolutely against the odds. over and over again. it's not very rare that it...
Since i am on a G4 since a few weeks i thought i'd try playing a huge map. it's still a pain . . . . minutes go by before the turn is over.
i kinda hoped my new iBook would fix this.
what am i doing wrong? i downloaded it and put the map with edit in the civ3 map. didn't work.
i tried it with the actual program in the civ3 map. didn't work.
what am i doing wrong?
