Pick Your Poison Mafia: Termite Sailors Go Mad

'Evening' 2

"So," shouted a confident termite over the hubbub, "are we all now in agreement? Are we sure that it's Doodles we want to lynch?"

A few termites replied, "Yes." A few more said, "No." A couple said both "Yes" and "No". A cool termite said, "Yo."

"Well then," tried the formerly confident, now exasperated termite, "can those opposed speak up and give me their reasons?"

"I'm opposed to lynching Doodles," said one.

"And why's that, shipmate?"

"Because I am Doodles," said Doodles.

"You're Doodles?" asked a voice in the crowd. "I was almost sure you were Giggles!"

"Gosh, I hope not," replied Doodles, "he died earlier." A note of apprehension had crept into his voice. While his imminent lynch had not really fazed Doodles, due partly to his never having heard the word 'lynch' before and being somewhat unsure of its meaning, the possibility of being dead already and not having noticed was, he thought, quite troubling.

"Well, I sincerely apologise, shipmate!" continued the exasperated sailor. "I had no idea, and I'm sure no-one aboard this ship would ever consider lynching you." The watching throng murmured in mass agreement, citing the length of Doodles's loyal service (almost two days), his long history of charity work, and his lustrous, silky abdominal bristles as good reasons to keep him alive.

"I don't think we need to kill Doodles any more, bro!" remarked the cool termite.

"Of course not!" responded the (once again) confident termite. "Doodles is a shining example of humanity. Or, you know. Termite humanity."

"No, man, I mean, he just died of his own accord, look," said the cool termite, pointing at Doodles's fresh corpse. Termites that have been alive for almost two days should not have crises of identity, it turns out.

The death of their hero sent the onlookers into a deep and mournful gloom, for a while, and then they all went to sleep for some reason.

Spoiler :
Doodles the termite was lynched! He was BSmith1068, a loyal sailor!

It is now NIGHT!
Mafia, please send me your kill.
If you have a night ability that you wish to use, remember to send me those details as well.
The NIGHT will end at 20.00 GMT Saturday (in about 24 hours).

Crap. I forgot to come back and at least tie it. Oh well. Fair well lost sailors.

ghost comment: Welcome to Termite Heaven, Doodles. *giggle*

'Morning' 2

The sky looked down upon the stricken HMS Thorax. While it could not see the tiny termites moving groggily around on the particularly edible parts of the deck, each trying not to meet the others' gaze, it could see that its incompetent colleague, the sea, was taking an abnormally long time to fill up the stupid wooden boat with water. Having cast a few disapproving looks in the direction of the sea, the sky finally decided to help out, in as patronising a manner as possible.

With a weary sigh, the heavens opened. For most of our protagonists, the raindrops represented nothing more than a light dressing to their oaky breakfast.

But one poor sailor had surely been listening to the wrong people.

"If we can't get away from the murderers by going in a straight line, or in a circle, then surely," thought Wiggles, "the only way is up."

"Attention, suckers!" he shouted at his fellow sailors, which would have been considered a bit rude, had anyone listened, "I'll be going now... to the clouds! Follow me if you want to live!"

With that, he took a running leap at a raindrop which had conveniently decided to fall in slow-motion. Gaining purchase on the surface tension of the water, he pivoted, launching himself from the drop and pirhouetting gracefully onto the next one up, before doing a really cool backflip through about three others. That music from the Matrix started to play, you know, the one from when he kills everyone in slow motion and does lots of flips and it's like whoa, awesome.

"Whoa, awesome," said a cool termite.

A lesser termite would have lost his footing, would have fallen, but Wiggles was in control, his gyrating hips [do termites have hips? Look this up. Ed.] wiggling between the high-speed globules. A particularly malicious raindrop took a dislike to Wiggles and aimed straight for him, but Wiggles was too quick, evading the evil drop and causing it to crash headlong into one of its workmates, at which point it exploded in a ball of fire [can raindrops catch fire? Look this up. Ed.]

With a final burst of speed, Wiggles was out, floating majestically, triumphantly, above the clouds, and consequently, fuelling some debate as to what time period this game takes place in, he was sucked into a jet engine.

Spoiler :
Wiggles the termite was killed! He was Backwards Logic, a loyal sailor!

It is now DAY!
Vote for who you believe to be a mutineer.
The DAY will end at 20.00 GMT Monday (i.e. in approximately 48 hours). No votes past that time will be counted.

Vote: Jarrema.
Not very scummy, to be perfectly honest, but the bandwagoning is still the scummiest thing that's happened by comparison.

Ok does anyone have any information which will help us deduce who could be mafia. I would rather wait to vote until some of that information comes out.

vote:Red_Spy

Since he is inactive, he is not helping our cause.

Not voting one day does not mean I am inactive. As for potential leads, I have none.

given 48 hours, we can afford to wait a little bit for some more info to makes its way out of the woodwork. Speaking of which, the structural integrity of the ship may be compromised if we don't stop digging tunnels around all over the place. Remember when we dug out that tunnel underneath that one brick house?

Boy that wolf that payed us sure ate a lot of pork that day. We're good tunnel builders, we sure are!

Ahahahahahaha...haha...ha......ha.

Jarrema's eagerness is an interesting factor for me as well. I would be interested in hearing his take on the matter.

And my apologies to BSmith.

Way to go for the low-hanging fruit.
Well, more like going for the deadwood. :groucho:

I still like Turquoiside as a potential mutineer.

@Red Spy: If you could get a plausible (and confirmable) role claim going, we would all be appreciative. Until then, Vote: Red_Spy

@BigTin: Eye still got my eye on you. :p

Verarde, you were inside bigger wagon than mine...
I just feeled good with my voice, that is why I voted and why I did not change it.
For now, I will abstain. There is plenty time left.

You wanting me to claim is starting to seem very suspicious. Who is saying I actually picked a role, or got one? You are so determined to have me claim, its like you are telling us you are a mutineer, for the possibility of outing one of our roles.

Vote: NinjaCow64

Ghost Comment: Night two? I'm flattered. *Goes back into retirement*

I agree with Red Spy, NinjaCow's attempts to get him to claim and suspicion of BigTin don't make sense.

Vote: NinjaCow64

Well when I checked the list of posts in the thread, you had very little. I was putting some pressure on you to show up and it worked, so good on you.

hmm, with 11 alive we may need to start getting these votes right.

ninjacow is good, but I'll also vote: daveshack. As a lowly ensign (bottom of the pecking order), he had been eager to vote for choxorn and now for turquoiside. That seems like targeting power roles to me.
