The Year is 1218. Black Chaos Energy is beginning to menace the nations of the world. While some mutations have been reported, it remains scant due to liberal use of euthanasia.

The choppy seas around Angel Island have finally calmed. Treasure, knowledge and adventure await any who set foot on the Legendary Seventh Continent of Mobius, but so does terrible danger.

Analysts believe that in terms of troop quality, Morgal rules the roost. Its Air magic is unrivalled throughout the world, giving it an edge against EVERY opponent.

Meanwhile, the Bundesleet and East Republic Company command the world's largest economies.

Knuckles has visited Greece. Any Greeks present in Angel Island this turn will have +10% to their chance of generating Chaos Energy, and also have +2 against Abhorrents.

With the storms calm, Angel Island is now open for business. The island is mysterious, almost everything on it having been wiped out. It's said the volcanos of the Lava Reef Zone erupt constantly as a result of Chaos Instability.

Landing on the island can be done with a fleet or an airforce. Airforces must be used if you intend to reach it from across the world. It is divided into several provinces.

Angel Island is divided into eight regions, each with ten provinces. The seven peripheral regions have a 10% chance of generating any unit of colored energy(non-black/non-gray) - this is a per province benefit. You also will get +1 gold for each province occupied directly into your treasury. The central region provides Gray energy by default.

If you occupy an entire region that chance becomes 100%, so you get a guaranteed 8 of some kind.

Such generous benefits, but there's a catch.

For one, you must first get the units there, and start on the coast and work your way in. If your navies/air wings are not present when your units must retreat, the units will be killed.

For two, there's only so much land to go around. You will have to compete with other players. You will also need to work together with them against the Abhorrents. So, yes, basically, Angel Island is a miniature SonRISK.

For three, the Abhorrents will try to push you back. These beings, twisted by black chaos energy, are all that seems to remain on the Island. They have five attacks a turn - this number can fluctuate. They constantly respawn, and attack your armies with the exact same military quality you have. Only Ixis Nations, or those who have Knuckles on their side, can counter this power. If your forces are captured after being defeated, they will be mutated into more Abhorrents. Abhorrents choose their target proportionally and at random.

Killing an Abhorrent force, however, has a 10% chance of giving you Black Chaos Energy. Don't ask how your forces get it. Seriously, don't.

==Chaos Storm==

An event that rains down on a particular province and kills 1-100% therein. However, it will leave a random type of Chaos Energy in the province. This is a sort of consolation prize.

GREECE was hit by a Chaos Storm! 6 citizens have been killed. Green energy has been deposited on the site.

Chaos Eruptions are still available.

There are 1864 provinces. 489 of those are settled. That is, a 26% chance Chaos Energy will land in inhabited areas.

If it lands in a major power's land, it will be noted. If not, you can see it on the map as a square of that color. Claim it and the Chaos Energy is yours.

In addition, manufacturing of AK-74s is far more successful than generally thought, with handguns, crossbows and bows being completely supplanted by the new Assault Rifles within 8 months (Swordsmen and Herbalds are still in use in case close combat is necessary). However, the Empire has little use for these weapons as of 2503 IC, as the foreign policy has little use for armed conflict as of now.

Meanwhile, hardy Marienburger colonist have established permanent settlements (Neu Marienburg, Mariusstadt*, and Karlfranzburg) on the recently accessible continent Engelland. Suprisingly, other Marienburger mariners who have made temporary trading posts on the far continent have discovered a nation whose language is almost identical to Reikspiel, called the Bundesleet. Several Bundesleet emissaries have been invited to the court of Karl Franz in order to aid in the continuing technological advancement. Hopefully they would be impressed by the Empire's Steam Tanks and Assault Rifles.

In other news, a strange Mobian Beastmen named "Sonic" has become something of a folk-hero among the Reiklander frontiersmen. This Mobian has been travelling throught the Empire, assisting the poor and oppressed. Although he has had some difficulty fully intergrating (including several brushes with overly-devout Warrior-Priests of Sigmar), he is generally well liked among the populace.

In the outskirts of the recently founded town of Rorikstead. Construction for tapping into the chaos energy was underway. Derricks dotted the landscape outside of Rorikstead as they extract the cyan chaos energies from the ground. With news about the opening of the Rorikstead Wells, the industrial sector was stimulated with the increace in demands for heavy industrial equipment and rail lines from New Königsberg to Rorikstead to deliver the newly extracted resource.

Rail lines have been constructed ahead of schedule to the lands that hold the red chaos wells and a team of engineers and hazmat crews have been assembled for the controlled taping of the black chaos energy wells.

The testing of the cyan chaos energy has resulted in an unusual property. Scientists have concluded that the cyan chaos energy, when added to fuel for their tanks, acts as a nitro boost enabling them to move farther than tanks and vehicles without the additive. However, the engineers warn that refineries can only refine the cyan chaos energy to supply only five panzer divisions. Legate Nozomi has slated that the fuel additive to be supplied to the frontier armies undergoing border expansions.

Legate Nozomi was soon making preparations for the Chancellor's visit. It's been years since Nozomi has seen her grandmother in years and hopes that the Chancellor's visit would increase the spirits within the East Republic Company holds.

As he hurried through the halls of the New Capitol, John Doe revised the few lines he had always thought he would say to him when he would meet him. He had left all his work in his office. He crossed the zone where the security checkpoint should be, exited the building and stepped down the stairs to the limousine that was waiting for him just in front of the main entrance.

He was so confused that he didn't realise that someone was sitting by his side until he spoke:

"Hello, John. Looks like you're doing a good job here."

"Uh? Oh, sir. Hello, eeh... uuuh..."

"Oh, please, calm down. People are often impressed when they first meet me. But well, you don't meet the Secretary of Defence every day, right?"

"Uh... Yes, sir. I must say that your Psychic aura is pretty overwhelming too..."

"Yes, they always say so. But back to business, I want you to become my personal assistant."

"Sir? Is this some kind of joke?"

"Do I look like I'm joking? Because I am not. If you accept, I want you to be at Liberty Island tomorrow at 7 AM, understood?"

"Yes, sir, but..."

"No buts, John. Now you can call me Peter" The two men stretched each others' hand "See you tomorrow, John. i think this is your place."

Before he realised, he was looking through the window, nodding and getting off the car. He had met Peter Bishop! The Secretary of Defence! The man that every Fringean wanted to know! And he hadn't been able to remember those stupid lines!

He went to bed after setting the alarm for 6 AM. When he woke up, he dressed in his best suit and left for New Liberty Island, the D.O.D. headquarters. There, he once again met the Secretary.

"Good to see you, John. Hurry up, we have things to do." The telephone rang, so the Secretary answered:

"Yes sir"... "At your disposal sir"... "We're coming right now sir"... "Ok, I'll just call you Astrid..."

"John, that was President Farnsworth" The Secretary said as the communication was cut.

"The President herself...?"

"Yes, that's it. We're going to the Grey House."

They were there in no time at all, the secret bunker where the President lived. They were directed to the situation room, were President Astrid Farnsworth was watching at maps of the regions surrounding Fringe, including the mysterious landmass known as Angel's Island.

"Hi, Peter. We have a situation here."

"Really? I thought this was the situation Room!" The Secretary joked.

"Come on, Peter. We have now contacted most nations over the world. Someone even tried to steal from Fort Harvard! The Federal Reserve!"

"That's pretty serious. We should mark our territory, claim the land we consider ours."

"We already have a map. This one, see? Now were ready to expand to the brown ones, although we'll have to create 4 new army corps."

"Wait, wait, wait. The WHOLE of Angel's Island?"

"Yes, of course. It will provide a great source of income and Chaos Energy. We only have to deal with those..."

"Abhorrents, sir" Someone said.

"Thanks, General Plaincrosser. We already sent a lightly armed scouting unit. They observed the coast. Each time they tried to go further inland they were confronted by hordes of these Abhorrents. We'll just have to send full armies to occupy each province."

"Let's hope that all goes well."

"They won't be able to resist before our military. On other issues, we discovered that Anarchy Beryl can be turned into coloured types of Chaos Energy. AND reports say that a source of Yellow Energy appeared within the state of New Maine. Analysis show that it has incredible properties. It can be turned into gold. At a low efficiency rate, though. Anyway, it will boost our economy and allow us to create more infrastructures."

"I am the Secretary of Defence, Astrid. There's no need to explain any of these to me!"

"But you have that scientific spirit. You have always had it. Since I first met you in Walter's lab..."

"Yes sir
 
Is Chaos energy harvested automatically? And blue gives armies more blitzing, right?

Do I get the benefits of a technology the turn I research it? I'm assuming so, and that the only thing I don't get benefits of is a thing I'm conquering.

Can people build canals in every region on Angel Island? :p
 
-Chaos Energy can be used the turn it's obtained, IF It fell on you by chance. If it's in a territory you're claiming, you don't get it until next turn. This prevents Black Chaos snowballing.

-You get the benefit of the tech the turn you research it, yes.

Zero-One is announcing our intentions in the colonization of territories to our eastern frontiers. As such, we wish to establish closer relations with the Greater Reikland and will accept the Reikland's proposed sphere of influence.

In light of the growing complexity of the international stage, 01 will also undergo a vast increase in military production.

Freedom-Morgal Non-Aggression Pact

Earlier today, Freedom delegation (led by the venerable stalker Trotski) met with Morgal leaders in an embassy in their capital. An expansion plan for Freedom settlers and a non-aggression pact were agreed upon.
