NOTW L: The Immortals [Game Thread]

You're full of it. If you really cared about healing the demon hunter, he would already be healed.

Yeah, I know. That's why I keep asking you to give me your life mana, so I can heal people. How many more times do I need to say it?

Pizza says a lot of things, Pizza lies a lot, Pizza manipulates a lot, Pizza was a scumbag this game. Not sure why you think any self-respecting innocent would heed his advice in this game.

You already have enough to heal IIRC

OOC: Let us not forget Bad Player protected the known neutral Jabba the Hutt every night when he was the town's only doctor. He could very well be a really sloppy/trusting innocent.

I believe that I explained to everyone why I did that on a rational basis. Do you have a problem with me having done that?

actually, ignore me. Some further analysis reveals that BP is probably scum. Zack had far fewer life manas than I thought he did :hammer2:

Wait, what? I thought you were kidding. ATPG was mafia and had lots of access to QTs and info and stuff.

I'm pretty sure he is joking.

NIGHT Nine

The Calcarian Adept found himself surrounded by his accusers. He tried to plead with them, argue their case against him was flawed but they would not budge. They felt sure this time that they had truly found a demon. Exar felt optimistic in their choice as well. While they were arguing, he was considering what would be the best way to dispatch the Adept. In the end he deferred to his trusty great sword. Exar sent a servant to retrieve the sword while the Adept continued to plead his case despite everyone having their mind set. The servant brought the sword to Exar and he grabbed by the hilt with just one hand, letting the blade drag along the ground behind him as he made his was off the dias and towards the Adept. The sound of the blade being dragged along the ground shocked the Adept into silence. The Adept looked around to the source of the sound and fear crept up his face as he spotted the King slowly coming towards him.

The King stood in front of the adept and then drew up the great blade on its end while he rested his arms on the hilt. The Sword was so large that it partially obscured the Vampire King but the Adept could not see the king at all, his eyes were fixed on the sharp gleaming edges of the great sword. “Adept, you have been accused of abetting the enemy if you are not indeed the enemy yourself?” Exars voice shook the Adept out his semi trance, “No my King I am faithful as ever. Surely you have the wisdom that these folks do not, surely you can see that proof I provided which shows I did not aid the Demons, this is resolute proof, surely you must see that.” The Adepts eyes darted between the blade and his King. The King frowned. “I hear a lots of words but not a lot of conviction in your voice. Prepare yourself, death comes.” The Adepts was not prepared himself. Not to die but to run away. Exar drew his sword up and swung the blade over his head and down towards the Adept with frightening speed. The Adept seemed to lose his colour, not just pale but turning opaque. As the Sword connected there was a flash of light, then half a scream. When everyone’s eyes adjusted from the flash, the wrong person was standing in the centre. The figure stood for half a second and then in a burst of blood it fell to the ground in two pieces. Exar looked at the corpse and realised it was the Durnovarian Jailor.

Exar spun around, the Adept couldn’t have gone far or so he hoped. Fortunately a muffled cry from the Luentinum Aristocrat revealed the Adepts location. The Adept had seized the Aristocrat and held a knife to his throat “Lord Exar, let me leave and no more people have to die.” The Adept gestured with the small blade to indicate that he would slit the Aristocrat’s throat. Exar’s laughter boomed around the hall. He signalled to the Durnovarian Adjudicator, who bared his fangs and then launched himself at both the Adept and Aristocrat with righteous fury. The adept stepped back just in time the Adjudicator’s fist slammed right into the Aristocrat, the Adept could see the Adjudicator’s hand covered in blood reaching up for him through the Aristocrat, but just coming up short. The Adjudicator then used his other hand to rip the Aristocrat in half just for being in the way of his prey.

The Adept’s began to fade once more, the Adjudicator threw the Aristocrat’s torso at the Adepts but like before, just as it was about to connect a flash of light brightened the room and the Adept disappeared. This time he chose a more valuable target. His blade was pressed against the Governor of Durnovaria. “I swear, I will not go quietly, there will be a lot more bodies if you don’t let me go.” The Vampire King’s eyes flared dangerously and an evil grin appeared on his face. “That’s three poor targets in a row, dear Adept.” The Governor of Durnovaria tilted his head slightly to the side and his face shared the same grin as his King. The ground began to shake and then suddenly erupt as a sea of stone spears pierced the air around both the Governor and Adept. Several of the Stone spears had pierced the Adepts and he cried out in pain. The Governor waved his hand and a gleam of a swirling brown mana orb was to be seen. The stone spears receded back into the ground except those holding the adept in place.

The Governor stepped to the side and bowed low. “A gift for you, my King.” He said as he waved a hand towards the pinned Adept. “Very good, make sure this slippery guy doesn’t use his little disappearing trick.” The King said as he walked towards the Adept with his great sword in tow. The Adept watched as the imminent death, that is the Vampire King, made his way closer to him. He then spoke up, his voice broken by his anguish. ”I am unable to do that little trick again… However, this next one will be much worse… For us all.” With that the adept closed his eyes, if not betrayed by his ominous words he looked like someone who had resigned themselves to their fate. Exar raised his sword with both hands when he noticed the Adepts lips moving slightly. An incantation he realised! Rushed, Exar dashed towards the Adepts to finish him once and for all. Exar leapts into the air to bring his sword down with all his might when an explosion of darkness burst forth from the Adept, knocking Exar while in the air and sending him crashing to the ground. When he looked up, a colossal and familiar Demon spread his wings which absorbed all the light from the Hall. To Exar’s surprise the Demon was not facing him but instead looking at the Adept. A great roar filled the hall. Its sound was an assault on everyone like an army was engaged in a bloody assault against one’s own mind. The Glevum Innkeeper was particularly affected, as blood poured from his ears and eyes and his own hands beating on his head to rid himself of the pain. Words followed that almighty roar. “You have failed me and you dare summon me here surrounded by enemy!” the Demon swung his clawed fist at the Adept smashing into him breaking the stone spears and the adepts bones alike. The Governor noticed the Demon’s fist narrowly missed him and taking advantage of the fact he wasn’t the target, raised he hands and a spike of stone lanced out from them towards the Demon’s exposed head. The Demon brought one wing around in time blocking a direct hit while the other collided with the Governor and sent him flying into a wall with a sickning thud. The Demon spun around and faced the Vampire King who had now regained his feet. Exar laughed. “I have not been idle since your attack on me. I know who you are now. Fallen Archangel and servant of Agares, Hyborem.”

The Demon Hyborem reached out, his claws swiping toward the Vampire King. Exar raised his great sword to block the attack and the Adjudicator came out of nowhere, colliding with the Hyborem’s arm knocking it out of the way and exposing the Hyborem’s left flank. Exar took the opening provided by the Adjudicator and brought his sword low, swinging it upwards. Despite the hardness of the Hyborem’s red skin, the sword tore through it, creating a large laceration and revealing the foul corruption underneath. “I can feel your rage!” taunted the Vampire King. “Judging by you action must be pretty pissed with your servants summoning you here in front of me when I have regained all my strength. I defeated you last time I will do so again!” Hyborem just roared in reply, a jet of black flame spewed forth but Exar expected it and easily avoided it. It was not so for the Innkeeper. Still trying to batter of the assault on his mind, the black flames swept over him only adding to his agony before finally falling silent once more.

Exar looked guilty; he hadn’t noticed the Innkeeper behind him. Slightly distracted by the innkeeper’s death, he didn’t raise his defence up in time as Hyborem’s fist finally connected. Exar was sent flying by the impact and the Adjudicator tried to catch his King but was intercepted as Hyborem’s other fist closed around him. The Adjudicated grimaced from the crushing pressure, but he wasn’t going to submit and display his pain. He lashed out at the Demon’s arm Trying to make him let go. The Governor saw his kin get snatched by Hyborem and jumped on his back. He had acquired a sword and began slashing away at the base of Hyborem’s wing. Hyborem roared at the annoyance on his back, he reached over with his massive arm trying to swat the Governor of Durnovaria away. The Glevum Governor and the Ljosalfar Hunter both equipped themselves with swords and similarly began to assault Hyborem. They both targeted the arm they held the Adjudicator slashing at it. At the same time both the right arm and left wing of the Hyborem were cleaved away from his body. The Demon roared and looking down sent a burst of black flame that hit the ground and then spread out from him like an expanding circle. The Vampires jumped back from their assault to evade the intense heat of the flames.

Hyborem looked up to see almost all the vampires gathered around the Vampire King. The Vampire King had his arms extended towards the Demon, they were glowing brightly, so bright that the other vampires had to look away. Hyborem recognised the light as the miniature sun shot out from Exar’s hands towards him. Hyborem’s remaining wing wrapped around him as a shield. The pulsating light tore through the wing creating a neat circular and singed hole. A burst of bright light turned everything white. The Kasavan Captain, the only vampire not to taking part in attacking the demon and was standing coolly with arms folded at the back of the room. She raised her arm to protect her eyes from the pulse of light. When she lowered it she noted the huge now empty cavity created in Hyborem’s torso by Exar’s attack. She whistled to herself, quietly impressed, then turned and left the Manor, leaving a wake of disabled guards behind her as they tried to stop her.

Hyborem staggered and dropped down onto one of his massive knees. He dropped his wing to regain his sight of the enemy. He surprised to find himself staring directly at the Gregori Adventurer. Even more so, considering even on his knees he towered over everyone. The Adventurer was floating in mid-air and much like Exar, a bright orange light glowed in the adventure’s hand “Be gone, you’re not welcome in this world spawn of Agares!” shouted the Adventurer and he thrust his glowing fist at Hyborem’s head. Light exploded out of the Demon and in a wisp of black smoke Hyborem disappeared.

A cheer went up from the survivors. In the joyous celebration, Exar surveyed the Adventurer with surprised. It was only now he realised the power that the adventurer wielded. Immortals were rare, yet here was one that was almost as old as he. “I thank you for coming to my aid. I’m guessing you’re a demon hunter?” Exar said kindly to the adventurer. The adventurer nodded in reply “Yes and it seems my job is not done. That was just a premonition of Hyborem. My theory is they were attempting to use an immortal body to bring Hyborem into this world completely. He has been thwarted but until all his servants are removed the danger is not yet removed.” And with that he turned to where the Adept’s body should have been but all remained was a couple broken stone spears and small pool of blood.

I'm pretty sure he is joking.
I was right. The game is over and the town reigns supreme. Long live freedom.

EDIT: Oh **** me, sorry Sprig if I ruined the update for you. Hopefully this doesn't end up being a lone stupid post in the middle of a bunch of awesome update posts.

Correction: You can kill me, it's just something you have to do once with a lynch, twice with a group of vigilantes, and three times a lady.

I'm really a pain in the butt like that. But you haven't seen the last of me, I'll be back.

I notice the Exar has totally bogarted Frozen out of the Death Mana. His royal prerogative i suppose. See how angry frozen got about it though, he totally rip apart that guy. So don't get on his wrong side.

I think I could find it within my heart to forgive you Exar if you make sure the demon kills a Sheaim or two, which would tragically cause a war to break out...

I have updated the Night Nine update. :crazyeye:
I havn't proof read or anything so i expect it to be confusing... :(

Anyways congratulations Innocents. Feel free to post away.

An Epilogue will be put up on the weekend along with who got their PG's and such.
