Realpolitik of the Smoky Skies - The Reboot

Haven of Peace

Thanks.

Also, I have the stats updated in the OP and will send out personal fund info in a bit; I'll have the remaining POP stuff plus the in-game screenshots taken care of later today.

Also also, the NEP is declared defunct, as none of its members appear to be active. The party can be revived if any of their players return. All current funds of the party are maintained, but new funds will not be accrued.

I believe it was actually Coventry, or whichever was the newest at the time.

Any remnants of the NEP can pm me about joining the party of Pulias' future.

Hello again,

I haven't joined in for two reasons:
1) i'm a prince player since forever, my decision making abilities are confined to that.
2) I never played the scenario at all, nor do I have a knowledge on where we should be at some given turns.

Still, if you all need some more action and people participating so that this gets interesting, I can join in.

Miguel past prince the only difficult is that the ai cheats. I don't think most people here have played the scenario.

I would recommend you join the PIP of course:lol:

Nope.
Also, my college is closed today due to snow (aw...) and so I'll get the stats updated. I'll also extend the deadline for elections to next Saturday as an apology for the delay.

((That's awesome. I need further time to work with my party leader on some things before we started campaigning, so that works well for me --- saves a last-minute rush. :)))

Okay, Coventry it is. OP edited appropriately.

((Aww. Can we debate people in different cities? Because I was looking forward to a clash of words and ideas with Augustus. :)))

((I second this . . . except for joining the PIP. :p

Get involved, join a party. Maybe even become a candidate. Because even if you win a Senate seat, there's no guarantee you'll form government --- depends on who else wins as well --- so you can learn the scenario while sitting in the Senate debating ideas. ;)))

((Eh, it depends on what the GM thinks. Traditionally, we are immortal politicians, but it's mostly a handwave to justify not having to make characters like in IAARs and so on.

And Miguel, feel free to join despite that. To be honest, and this is said OOC, so don't bother using it in speeches and so on, but you're not necessarily trying to play the best game possible, but rather the one that will give you the most popularity, as well as what you enjoy. There's almost always a warmonger party, for example. I would advise you to look at what kind of gameplay you prefer when just playing normally, and then joining the party that fits best with that.

Best of luck in the game, assuming, of course, that we don't end up on opposing sites, in which case I will have to wish upon your a most soul-crushing defeat. :D ))

Speaking of which, whatever happened to the NEP? It might be a little duller without a warmonger party.

Are we functionally immortal or are we just regular old folks?

((Yeah, while 'Melda' is functionally immortal I'm going to be deliberately aging, retiring, killing off and replacing my characters in line with the game calendar.

But I'm crazy. :P))

They fielded two candidates at the 1812 general election: their party leader was successful and received a ministry but disappeared immediately thereafter, and the other party member was not successfully elected and vanished.

I honestly thought they would be an important and influential faction . . . but then they melted back into oblivion.

Yeah, all of you may have to make new characters when they die eventually. But me, well, I just have.............

We need more action and people participating ;). Really, though, this scenario's pretty easy to navigate, and King's not that much harder than Prince.

ent cities? Because I was looking forward to a clash of words and ideas with Augustus. :)))

Yeah, you can debate anyone you want. You'll just have to figure out which city the debate's held in...

Are we functionally immortal or are we just regular old folks?

As Magnive said, you're functionally immortal but can roleplay a series of characters if you want - totally up to you. This Realpolitik is just a bit more 'stripped down' than some others, so your stats are tied to players, rather than characters.

Speaking of which, whatever happened to the NEP? It might be a little duller without a warmonger party.

They disappeared under mysterious circumstances...

*Unless your chief evil minion goes unevil and lobs you down an elevator shaft.

Sorry I've been so quiet lately -- last week I had something of a personal emergency develop which has severely disrupted things for me. I'm not entirely sure how much time I'll be able to devote to keeping up with things, but I'll still try and keep my hand in.

It's a shame the NEP vanished -- I was debating switching to support them instead of the PAU, as they seem a bit closer to my vision of crushing our enemies with technological superweapons. :P But I'll take a look over the current political situation when I get a chance to see what to do.

No, we have steam-powered transmissions :p. The radio tech isn't in the ESS scenario.

Actually, it is, in the Airship Era and requiring Gospel of Wealth and Galvanomagnetism. So for the time being we'll have to rely on printed materials and steam megaphones, I suppose. :P

You should join the PIP, we are not so vehemently pacifist, though we do not wage war for wars sake.

Address from Imperator Augustus of the Pulian Imperial Party

People of Pulias, do you know what will make this nation into an empire of the world's envy? If you truly wish to know, each of you look to your neighbor. The farmer, who plants the seeds of the future every time his hoe strikes the earth. The crafter, the industrialist who with every strike of the hammer creates industry and infrastructure. The merchant who creates a strong economy where Pulian can buy and sell goods at a fair price. The militant who stands always ready to defend Pulias from threats both foreign and domestic! And the most important of all, the mother without her watchful gaze not of this would be possible!

So you see, it is the people who make this nation great!
A vote for the PIP is a vote for a strong Pulias!
Vires per iunctum!
