jeesh...it's not like its my dad or mom reviewing it

Well, not to offend you in any way but 10/10 is what I consider an outstanding mark. If all reviewers give 10/10 to all scenarios they like the whole marking review system will be useless.
And as I said, the partiality it could refer to is written in the readme.

Download:
Smooth download, but unavailable to download music, not available 24 hours. Download time approximately 20 minutes for the main download, between 1 to 2 minutes for the updates.

File extraction:
Winrar used instead the Winzip, as not so popular and familiar, some users has to go to Winrar shareware site in order to download first Winrar. Extraction process easy and fast.

Start of the game:
Fast, no errors detected during start. Once selected the player, configuration of the scenario take around 3 minutes in this PC. Two messages appear during the scenario configuration: "The Irish are building Nürnberg Rallies" and "The Irish are building Manginot Line", to be corrected.

Time per turn:
Very fast, no longer than one minute at the beginning, depending of the evolution maximum 3 minutes per turn.

Playability:
In this version no bugs detected, but review was not through all the players, so cannot guarantee 100% reliability. Main problems are:
No civilopedia for the buildings
No civilopedia for the tech tree
Incomplete the science advisors screens
Minor problems:
Too many civilizations, with small interest, i.e. Baltic States, Poland, etc., these civilizations have very few turns of survival, so is pointless for a player to play as these civilizations.
Huge tech tree not balanced against the quantity of turns, and preventing for developing important units with an outstanding role during WWII.

Balance:
Still room for improvement regarding the balance, but it is a well known problem, and not easy to circumvent. In general the balance is good for the main players of the WWII, and that is the more important. Still some units to be tested and rebalanced, i.e. sea units in general, ground units are pretty nice balanced, but i.e. artillery still some room for creative work, the air balance still need some work, but is clear that author has invested a lot of time in the balance of this units. Some units have too long reaches in comparison with the size of the world (i.e. air bombardment units).

Mod balance is quite well, maybe some improvement to be necessary regarding the growth of the population, in order to give more chance for drafting, and to enhance a little bit the production, considering the small area for the cities. Espionage still need some retouch, the quantity of gold that is possible to store during the game is not enough to pay for the diverse espionage possibilities, making its use not very workable. Some work in the strategic resources is possible to improve (i.e. rubber).

Special comments:

Interest
Is a particularly interested scenario, as many versions have been developed by the CivIII fanatic’s forum. The strongest point of this scenario is the quality of the units, the very fast performances, and the possibility to run the scenario without problems in rather modest hardware configurations. The small wonders included give to this scenario a great interest, and show a wonderful imagination of the author, that’s why, is so important to produce the civilopedia.

Art
The units are beautiful, and in general the scenario has a great impact in the players when played for the first time. Is a pity that still missing some icons for units, techs, etc., once the complete work is finished the impact is going to be even greater.

Accuracy
Definitively a lot of investment has been done in order to achieve accuracy respect to the history, and the result is great. However some items are still pending to be improved: Russian geography is the more interesting, despite the fact that is not very important for the results, is a pity that Moscow is so far to the south, it is possible that the correction of this geographical mistakes will give a complete different vision in a later version.

Replayability
The highest punctuation for this scenario for replayability, as you can play with a lot of civilizations, giving the feeling of a complete different view of the scenario.

General comments:
The best WWII European Scenario tested so far. The scenario is under constant modification.

OVERALL MARK 9.5

Creator - quasidemo :D

Version - ver 0.91 as of December 11, 2004

Type - Fantasy (Maybe historical... hmmm.)

Dates and Place - Middle Earth, end of the Third Age

Map Size and Civs - 60x80. Six playable civs, two unplayable.

Download size - 294 kb. Yes, kilobyte. Scenario was designed to be easy to use.

MP Version - Haven't tried it. Let me know if you do.

Synopsis - Play as any of a number of major civs in Middle Earth during the War of the Ring. You can lead Sauron's orcs to conquer the kingdoms of Men, or as Elrond you can decide if and how the waning power of the Elves should best be used to aid Middle Earth. As Saruman you can use your "blasting fire" to lay siege to the Rohirrim at Helm's Deep. And of course, you can lead Gandalf and Frodo in the quest for Mt. Doom and destruction of the One Ring. I wrote this scenario as a way to explore the War of the Ring more fully and deeply using Sid Meier's Civ3 Conquests modelling (and fun) principles.

Special Features -

-A compact custom map based on information from The Atlas of Middle Earth
-Playable Civs: Gondor, Mordor, Rohan, Isengard, Elves, Dwarves
-The Ring is an immovable nuke/princess
-Frodo is invisible to all except Nazgul and King units
-Mt. Doom is the goal of Reverse Capture the Flag
-King units have special abilities/attributes according to their characters
-Mountains cannot be crossed except for at their passes (where there are roads)
-The special units for civilizations are modeled after Civ units, including Uruk-hai, Orcs, Riders of Rohan, Dwarven Kindred, Evlish Bowmen, and Mumakil.
-Custom Civiliopedia entries for units and improvements, mostly based off of the Encyclopedia of Arda
-Difficulty levels from Gollum to Iluvatar
-Customized Wonders like The Pelennor Wall and The Light of the Valar

Overall mark : 9 / 10 (which means excellent for me).

The main positive features :
- a fast loading scenario
- a scenario that can please both epic-like gamers and core scenario players since some civs are already settled while others are just starting with settlers.
- Historical accuracy
- a Great and AFAIK complete civilopedia !
- replayability with different civs that have very different units, strategies

Donwload & Install : quite easy. File size reasonable, most is actually used by leaderheads. Installing a patch is required.

Playability : with the patch, perfect AFAIK. Of course I haven't tested all civs, all units, all improvements and all situations but apparently no bug left. Nevertheless Plotinus (the author) is always around so bugs can be corrected.

Balance and AI : fairly good. It is definitely possible to win but not that easy. There are no game-breaker unit and progression is smooth and accurate, with mounted troops being for instance a tad weaker than contemporary foot units. Up to you to decide between speed and attack strength !
Ireland is a real cultural threat while vikings can actually (if they choose so) wray havoc on your coastal cities once times comes.

Civs : plenty of civs to choose from. Anglo-Saxon ones (main interest), Ireland, Romano-British ones, Vikings, Picts.... give a wide range. Some civs are not supposed to be playable but the ones that can be played cover lots of different areas and must use different strategies.

The (possible) conversion to catholicism is quite well represented as is the possibility of being culturally overrun so this is not only a war game and it gives a feeling of emergency from the beginning.

Art & units : ranging from good to perfect. Some could be slightly better but overall they blend easily. Maybe new units will make it perfect in the future.

Minor shortcomings (personal opinions) :
- the map is a tad big (but since the game runs fast it is not really a problem, more a question of preferences).
- the tech-tree (very detailed) advances a bit quickly, which is a pity since you have hardly the time to read the excellent pedias and you might feel a bit drowned with techs.

But generally this is an excellent scenario, the kind I would like to see more frequently here. Both fast to load, original (I mean not just another WWII scenario), accurate, well documented, with a lot of replayability, complete with dedicated tech-tree, units,... and bug-free.
What's maybe even more important it really gives you a good feeling of immersion into the era.

Scenario Title C3C Scenario/Mod: Rising Sun
Type Historical (epic: ancient/medieval to modern)
Dates and Place The scenarios start in 200 BC, 600 AD, 1200 AD, and 1500 AD respectively, and have an Asian flavor.
Map Size and Number of Civs Earth 140x140, 21-24 civs
Download Size 8 MB + optional extras
MP Version scenarios: no (mod on random map: yes)

Synopsis/Description
This package consists of two parts: a mod that can be played on a random map, and three scenarios that use the mod. All scenarios span a long time line and can't be won withing a few turns.

While playable with all civilizations, these scenarios are primarily intended to be played as Japan. Thus the scenarios adopts a novel approach to history. In reality civilization rise and fall, but in civ they tend to do either one or the other. Despite adopting a nominal starting date, there are actually several time lines. The placement of some civilizations (e.g. America) is thus aimed at achieving a certain position at a later stage of the game, when they will be in contact, and perhaps conflict, with Japan.

The result is a scenario that keeps a very high level of historical accuracy not only over the first few turns, but throughout an entire epic game!

Special Features
In addition to many new features, the mod thas been desiged to take advantage of all the extra graphics that come with the expansions, thus providing exceptional bang for the buck! :nuke: See the mod description in the scenario URL for details.

A lot of effort has been spent meshing the new units into the tech tree in a balanced yet innovative way that should be simple for the AI to understand and still offer new capabilities. Especially in the modern era, new units often use different combinations of resources - making the latter both less critical and more interesting at the same time.
