Council of Doom Meeting -
January 1st, 1941
Here is our military strengths for the beginning of the year for review. Last year's review is
here.
Ground Forces: We have increased our size incredibly, and have the world's largest armoured forces. Japan is only ahead of us due to the vast amounts of militia and garrison troops it needs for China. The Soviet Union seems to also be focusing her attention to mechanised units.
Our infantry remains the best, and is in the process of another modernisation programme. We are researching into Mechanised "half-track" units to handle rougher terrain, as well as beginning work on upgrading the standard Panzer Mark III's to Mark IV.
Naval Forces: Completely gone, and it's easy to see why. Despite the best attempts by the Luftwaffe and the Kriegsmarine, we have failed to land a blow on the British Royal Navy. There is no doubt in my mind that had we attempted any sort of attack on the British Isles, the transport fleet would have been wiped out.
Air Forces: Stunning work by Herr PrinceScamp. We remain the dominant power in the skies, and in addition our battles with the UK has seen almost half their airforce destroyed since last year. This I believe can be attributed to the fact that the RAF had very few planes designed to deal with air combat.
Topics of Discussion
Balkans: Italy's war with Greece is dragging on, and we have the means to assist her. We have many divisions in Yugoslavia who can travel through occupied Albania and attack Greece from the north.
At the moment I believe this is a bad idea. By waging war on Greece they will undoubtably join the Allies, stretching Italy further. We still have no transports, so we cannot support them in northern Africa yet.
Spain: I am dissapointed with Franco's refusal to allow our troops to cross, but at the same time he assures me he is working towards supporting Germany fully. Spain is still recovering from the civil war, to drag them into this one so soon would leave our western front vulnerable.
The Soviet Union: Final votes now please
As I've stated many times, this is the best time to strike. Russian forces outnumber us, and with their industries it will not be long before they match us in a one on one fight. When the winter and mud season is over in the east, I wish to launch the attack into Russia.
I believe that's all for now. Questions and suggestions are more than welcome by all.
