I'm sorry that I already ask these question in here
But seems more people has BtS here. :)

I have some question about this tech tree:

1.Please tell me what the '?' are
Spoiler :

2.I guess some units' meaning, please tell me whether I was right or not.
Spoiler :

thanks a lot. :)

So let me get this straight, what the "All Cities" means when refering to Corporation benefits.

Is it 1)
You have an empire with 8 Sid's sushi resources and each and every city gets an extra 4 food

or 2)
Each city with a Sushi resource in its bfc gets the 0.5food/resourceinbfc benefit

Thanks in advance (i know it'll take alot of playing to get to that stage)

Neither.

It's: You have an empire with 8 Sid's sushi resourches and each city with the corporation in it gets an extra 4 food. Remember that you need to pay upkeep for corporation in a city and it costs money to spread them so it is a trade off if this 4 food is worth it in any given city.

Your cities get the benefits of the corporation if you have that corporation in your cities, to my understanding. So, for a corporation that gives boosted production, you only get the boosted production if you have a city with that corporation in it. Any other city doesn't get the benefit. The host civilization of the corporation has to pay a maintenance cost for it, so if you found it in a rival's territory and then spread it to your own, they pay the maintenance cost while you reap the benefit.

Or, at least, that's how I understand it. Am I wrong?
You are wrong. Host means the owner of the city in which the corporation has a branch, not a HQ.

Example: Three player game, Louis, Julius and Monty.

Louis has 4 sushi resources, Julius has 6 and Monty has 2.

Louis founds Sid's Sushi corp in Paris. Spreads it to Orleans, Tenochtitlan and Rome.

Now:

1) Maintenance cost of Paris, Orleans, Tenochtitlant and Rome increases.

2) Louis gets extra gold (apparently 20=5x4 cities) for hosting the HQ (much like holy city with a shrine getting gold for each city with religion).

3) Paris and Orleans get extra 2 food, Rome gets extra 3 food, Tenochtitlan get extra 1 food.

I know it's a mod and all, but at some point when you have the time, could you post screenshots of the civilopedia entries for the Next War units and techs. They just look so nice on the tech tree screenshot you posted earlier :)

A very quick question to anybody who has the game right now:

Does Cossacks still have the same stats as they do in Warlords? Do they still replace Calvary? I don't need a screenshot or anything just a conformation.

Thanks in Advance.

Cavalry now requires Rifling so that should be the only change to Cossacks, making one of the strongest units weaker (as you access it later)

Thanks alot Watiggi !!! :goodjob:

Did you notice if any of the traits got changed? Did imperealistic get revamped?

The only trait that changed was Expansive, which now gives a 25% bonus to building workers (was 50%), so made one of the weakest traits even weaker

Marioflag: Serfdom hasn't changed. Still +50% worker improvement build speed

Watiggi, have you figured out the nuances of Espionage Points yet?

I'm trying to determine whether it's good to allocate all of my EP's to the guy I'm about to go to war with, or spread them out evenly.

And I'm also paranoid now that the guy who's annoyed with me is secretly destroying my production or seeing that I'm researching Construction :shifty:
Yep. Had a game and went espionage crazy. It is really interesting as to how it works, and I wont go into it that much, but suffice it to say, it's good to collect more than your rivals (all of them). It makes all espionage activities cheaper, which makes it easier to get passive bonuses. If they increase their rate and catch up, your passive bonuses get more expensive and then you loose the bonus (because you can't afford it anymore). It's pretty cool actually. I only focused it for a little while, but then found myself loosing my advantage with the other leaders, so I distributed them across the board.

@Regarding the Ziggurat: You can't create a spy specialist until you build a courthouse (the earlist building). The Ziggurat being very early means that Summeria can start generating great spy points earlier. Also, the Great Wall produces +2 spy GPP.

Once you get the chance to actually play a game, I'd love to know how Corporations actually play out, and how they really work (The civlopedia pages you screenshot'd are just too vague and provide no actual mechanics).

Obviously not something for now, but hopefullly you can keep it in mind for later :)

Thanks.
I get the feeling you'll have it by the time I get there.

I have moved. I'm now in London. Which has been excellent. Until now...
Wow, that's a big move! Is it permanant?

** Any additional options in the Strategy Layer?
Nup, just line creation/deletion still.

* *
Any word on how Airships move about? Do they run missions like planes, or move square to square? If the latter, can they move over water?
No idea. Haven't got there yet. Probably wont before you guys get it anyway :)

A very quick question to anybody who has the game right now:

Does Cossacks still have the same stats as they do in Warlords? Do they still replace Calvary? I don't need a screenshot or anything just a conformation.

Thanks in Advance.
Cossack looks the same, only now they have the flank attack.

Thanks alot Watiggi !!! :goodjob:

Did you notice if any of the traits got changed? Did imperealistic get revamped?
Nup ^^ Expansive was the only change (the +25% worker bonus now).

Watiggi, you should've put all these in the screenshot gallery. ;) Ah well.
I don't. This thread (and all the pics) will become obsolete when everyone gets the game anyway. These aren't cool screenshots, so to speak, just informative for those who want to reduce their anxiety until the game comes.

Awesome, awesome topic. Mad props for keeping us informed Wattigi.
Another small question: are more wonders than the ones announced? If so, which are their effects? And what about the new terrain generation algorimth? Is it better than the old one?
No more wonders that I'm aware of. As for the terrain generation algorithm, that'll take a while to know.

I wonder about the culturally individual art styles mentioned in the rule changes. Does this mean for example an Inca tank would look different to a Russian, or does it just concern ancient units? Maybe only workers, scouts and settlers??

Too bad they didn´t include a graphical modernisation of buildings. It looks silly having modern metropolises with ancient aqueducts, colloseums, granaries and palaces.
I don't know about modern units looking different (haven't got there yet), but I've seen scouts, archers, swordmen, workers, etc all looking different. Heck, the Native American swordsmen looks a lot like the Jaguar (ie, with animal headress). It's really adds to the flavour.

excellent excellent excellent...
you're doing us a very great favor here, Watiggi...

if you don't mind, can you get some screenies of the leaders and their greeting texts?
I say no. It'll take too long to do (setting it up and what not).

thanks for posting the information before actually playing a game... a lesser man such as myself could not have done that!

although I am torn about reading all these screenshots.. I want to experience the game new when I get it. but I can't avert my eyes!!

that foreign advisor screen with the spreadsheet of numbers for the diplomatic points is just horrible. how do you read it... which way do the points go, across or down?? I really hate that screen.
Yeah, I was a little worried about ruining it for people with giving all this information, but concluded that people can make their own choice to read it or not.

As for the glance screen. The screenshot doesn't do it justice. The mouseovers are just the same as mousing over the leaderheads in the normal foreign advisor screen in vanilla or warlords (IIRC). I'm the top left person (Alexander), if that helps. It'll make sense once you get the hang of it when interacting with it.

Are there now three types of roads (in addition to railroads)? And what bonuses do they give (if any)?
Can't seem to find out. I think there's early and later era roads. I haven't developed it that far though to find out.

Can anyone with the game double check to see if City Art Styles (the ones implemented in Warlords) have been expanded?

Specifically if the Mesoamerican/Middle East/ and European styles now have their own individual style??

I have not recieved a straight answer to this question on the forum yet..Thanks for any help!
I'm pretty sure I answered this previously, but for a straight answer, yeah, doesn't look like any changes to the city styles, but a lot of changes to the unit art styles.

Here an important question that I don't think anybody has asked yet:

Can siege units still earn XP even if they can't kill anything anymore?
It appears they can only get 1 xp on the offensive. Defensive I haven't looked though, but if they can live, then I'd say for sure that they'd get the normal xp.

does SAM infantry upgrade to Mobile SAM, or mech infantry?
Mobile SAM

Your right, it'll take me a while to get to that stage. I dare say you'll have it by then.

Watiggi, have cossacks been changed at all?

Thks a bunch, can't wait to play.
They look the same.

how does the new aircraft system work, where intercepting fighters get 100% interception? Now, can invading fighters destroy those pesky interceptors?
Haven't been up to there yet. I believe the whole process is quite different though, from what I've read of the reviews and what not.

Has anybody yet run into an enemy privateer unit? Have you been able to decipher (from the unit graphics) what civ it was from? [Civ3 privateers as I remember were not fully unmarked.]

Also, could someone set up a situation in world builder. In which, a privateer unit ((from a civ you haven't met yet)) arrives at your culture boarder. I was wondering if the game would make the mistake of introducing you to the supposedly secret ship's owner?

Sorry, my questions seem to be time demanding. I could always just check this next week for myself, but I feel as this would be good information, or an early bug to decipher.
Haven't explored any naval units at all. Setting that up would be a little too time consuming right now.

In order: Moai Statues; doesn't exist (!); Security Bureau; National Park; Stealth Destroyer; Missle Cruiser; correct; Intelligence Agency; free Spy (like Fascism with Great General).

I get the feeling you'll have it by the time I get there.

  If this was a MMORPG, they'd have statue of you in the town square.

Ladies and Gentlemen:- Pls raise your glasses to the most useful Australian ever on this forum (sorry Dale);)

Really, did they left it out from the game?

I belive he's refering to the second question/icons from Sailing techs ...

Anyway - the fact that only Expansive traits get a modification ( a downgrade indeed !! :p ) make me feel that the game was rushed to market without enough testing/balancing :mischief: So - probably this expansion pack will be "really playable" just after 1 ( or maybe 2 ) patches ... :D

Watiggi, you are being so helpful! That post above is the longest I have personally seen in CFC. You have so many questions to answer!! Thanks for your help, it helps ease the wait. :D

Anyone with BtS can answer this: do you regularly get random events? Are some more serious than others? What's the worst so far? What kind of changes do they trigger?

Selfish post #1:- The Brits (AND Scots) can have the game in less than 24 hrs from now...so its you guys turn next...;)

:D :D :D I know, I am just waiting for the dispatch from Amazon - on first class of course ;) !! It should be today, and hopefully get it tomorrow!!!

I will also check in here, and help with some queries :), if there are still some.

Why is it that Australia got it so early? Was there some big mistake made or something where we got it earlier by accident? I do wonder whether Firaxis is steaming about me putting these pics here. I hope it's ok.

I'm surprised no one has talked about the point I made about seige units collecting xp.

Ok, DennisIran's screenshot links worked for me this morning (they didn't load yesterday), so they are now added to the index.

Problem is, Imageshack includes Adware, I'd advise no-one to use it, the upload to this site is just fine anyways.

I'm sure it is. If anything, it is making us all the more excited to get our hands on the game...you are effectively advertising it. Some places in Europe got it yesterday too. I guess it was shipped Tues/Wed, and some places got it quicker. Just how it works out.
