*** GAME FINISHED ***

Hi, this is the thread for the new WWII Pacific conquest PBEM aimed at newbies.

One experienced player would be a nice addition to help around.

on the 7th of August 1942, the Americans landed at Guadalcanal, thus starting the real counter-offensive.

It is for Conquests, using the MP version of the WWII Pacific scenario and the patch 1.22.
So you need to have both Conquests and the patch 1.22 installed on your computer.

You want to be in ? You have further questions ? Post in this thread or send me a PM. If ready to join, send me a PM with your e-mail.
IMPORTANT : please also write at which time you can play your turn (in GMT time please).

You can also check the sticky thread "newbee guide" where you can find tons of informations on how PBEM works, what you can do and what you should not do, etc... but if it is not clear enough, you can ask here and we will answer you (we are a community of friendly and helpful people).
When the rooster is full, I will send to all of you a planning e-mail with play order, e-mails, etc...

Organization : the game will be called Gudalcanal to be recognizable and when you get the game, send a mail to inform the sender you got it (GPS = Got it, Played it, Sent it).

Special rules :
- no city razing or abndonning !
- VP level raised to 50,000 (game more balanced).

I never knew that this was Tanaka rebadged. :hmm: Obviously you cut and paste from tanaka thread, but forgot to remove us.

My bad ! :shame:
Indeed copy/pasted.

Erased the names now ! Indeed all slots are free !
Sorry for that Classical_hero ... and the people who sent me PMs telling me it was full already and they could not sign in...

I would like to play. I'm in GMT -5, and I can play 1700-0300 GMT (5pm-3am). If possible, I would like to be the Dutch.

Game full !

For those who haven't done it, please send me a PM including your e-mail address and your playing time (given in GMT time, please).

Before I define the starting player from the play order, I would like to know if someone volunteers to play Japan and actually start the game.

This puts the player in a lonely position vs the alliance and needs some work during the launch of the PBEM (albeit I provide all the necessary infos and a how-to guide) so if there are volunteers then all the better !

One observation I have is that a Newbie Japan tends to get hammered when a "vet" starts calling tactics. Rcoutme did it for us in Nimitz, and I recycled his advice for Yap...

Sorry guys, owing to computer problems I'm going to have to bow out. I apologize for delaying the start of the game, hopefully a replacement will not be hard to find.
edit-it appears that my computer problems have been alleviated. If Loulong has not already found an eager replacement, I can still play. If a replacement has been found, I will do the honorable thing and let them play.

Hi!

I am wondering why I wasn't allowed to join the game?
I sent two PM's to LouLong april 27 about my interest in joining the game and she still haven't read them!
And I see now that the game was full april 29.
A denying answer, at least, would be nice.
Why couldn't I join the game? Is this how you treat "newbies"?
Very discouraging I must say.

/M

No Magnificient Cow is still in (he solved his problem).

Michellin : sorry if I gave you the impression I was rude. Usually when I read the PMs it automatically sends a message saying I read it. I usually don't reply if there is no further question and I just enter the names in the first post. I receive quite a few PMs and don't always answer them if there is no real need.
But you are in.

I sent another mail to Drugged_Unholy to ask for his playing times (he is the last one for whom I needed that) and just realized he edited his post (which was not obvious so it took me some time to realize it).

So full and organized. Sending the planning phase e-mail immediately and the file.
