I'm home, where are you?
Really just three different versions of the same unit. I would've called it a Ranger but I've already done one by that name.

There is a civ-colored and a non-civ-colored version of the mostly green clad Woodsman. Then there is a Warder done for the Wheel of Time Mod. The Warder's cloak is designed to be see-through. All use the same animations.

Smoooooth.. like butta'
Terrific cape effects. Like the sword. Two handers are in short supply in civ
Just wish I had a place to use him

VERY nice, I think I could find a good place for this guy in my (eventually to develop) mod.

Another unit to cross off the list for WoT. :)
Thanks again Kinboat, it turned out awesome.

And great idea about using the shadow colors from the palette for the cape. I kept trying to figure how to work it out using transperancies in some way, but your way seems much simpler and better. Guess that's why you're the master and I'm just an apprentice. ;)

simply A-mazing!!!!

slightly disturbing that see-thru -cloak :D

Nice units - one question though: why is he (are they) using only one hand with that 2-handed sword? Where's the good'ol mega-swing :)

Well it's actually just a hand-and-a-half sword, half-way between a long sword and a two-handed sword. So he doesn't need to use it two-handed. You can accept that as an explaination or...

I tried several different attacks and they all ran into problems with the figure doing wacky things (plus those things are just harder to animate). So instead of redoing the fortify and other attacks to get him in a different pose I just went with these. If I have some time I may try another attack in which he keeps both hands on the sword at all times.

That answer is fine for me :)

No need to make 2-handed attack - I was just trying to find something to criticize about it :p

...altought the ever-graceful head-removing swing wouldn't be frowned upon :mischief:

Cool, I did something similar with one of the units from the mars mod. I tried all sorts of things to start with, transparent objects etc... but I found in the end just using a magenta object is the best way to do it. :)

Also it's possible to use animated textures to spread the transparency across the unit, but from reading the books I seem to remember the warder's cloak is always a bit wacky...
