Another few turns have been played and I've ended at the end of turn 2650BC.

At 3000BC our chariot decided to pay a visit to a hut it had encountered, another chariot decided to join in the fun of exploration! (the chariot is supported by RC which now supports 3 units and has to pay for that with 1 shield per turn)
In 2950BC several citizens of ThunderFalls decided they wanted to live somewhere else an went on a journey to the west in which they were escorted by some very friendly archers.
When the year was 2900BC our wise men discovered alphabet and decided to find a Code of Laws...
In 2850BC the 2 legions had found a hut, surrounded it and popped it, the result was...a tech! We were given warrior code and our science rate dropped to 12 turns per tech. :(
At Dellham a phalanx was rushed which was completed in 2700 BC. Happiness and safety were guaranteed now.
In 2650 our SSC was founded, science was up again at 10 turns per tech and that's where I stopped.

Decisions:
- Where to explore.
- What to build in our SSC and what name will it be given.
(Dellham is now building a phalanx but I will change that to settlers)

Well, it looks like we've uncovered another 4 special site
due W. of Dellham. Methinks the Dellham settler might be
sent off to colonize there, since both food & production are
to be had. And also since there seems to be a dearth of
specials in the chariot area.

Once the hut is popped, I think the chariot should finish
mapping the area NE of RC, the northernmost legion and the
Dellham chariot continue to explore N, and the southernmost
legion explore to the NW.

As for the SSC: Maybe build a Warrior for control, then
a Courthouse (indirectly via Temple) to lower corruption?

[edit] Oh yes, if either of the units near Dellham is suported
by RC, why don't we re-home?

SSC has an Archer in it already, so it's fine for happiness and defense for now.

If it is going to be our SSC, it should start Colossus ASAP.

Nice exploring, picture and record, Civ1! And a Fish for RC! The new 4Special spot by our Southern Legion looks promising. I again recommend we build a city on the Pure Green directly between our two original cities (before the 2Whales City). A few Domestic Issues:

Were we going to name Gems City Elysium? Reneaux?

I assume we spent 4 gold on a Warrior in Dellham to complete the Phalanx. How much gold do we have? Dellham is building a Settler now, right?

We'll need to decide what to build in 'Gems SSC', a Wonder? Phalanx? Warrior?

I'm mystified that TFalls hasn't completed the Warrior and sent it up to Regia Civitas.

I would like to examine a download of the game. We all need to think about this, and I'm going to be gone Saturday. Mordhiem, if people demand a poll, please feel free to keep us moving along. See you all Sunday morning.

Here is an updated list from the Renaming Nineveh thread:

Regia Civitas (Capital) BUILT
ThunderFalls BUILT
Elysium NEXT
President - New Dellville BUILT 3200 BC : DellHam
Vice-President - Marl Downs
Domestic Advisor - Mordhiem?????
Military Advisor - Reneaux
Foreign Minister - Civvium
Science Advisor - ?????
Deputy Domestic Advisor - Grand Ronville
Deputy Military Advisor - Myarsatoria
Deputy Foreign Minister - Gabba Gabba
Deputy Science Advisor - Ebor
Keeper of the City Names - Fort Anarchy
Governors (in order they register)

If the gems city is gonna be the SSC, the Colossus should be started there ASAP.

This continent is looking pretty lonely. We're due to meet someone soon.

This also may be a good time to begin province discussions. I think we've explored enough that we can place a tentavtive line, or at least discuss one.

I'd also like to see a download. From the screenshot we have, I would say that it is quite obvious for most units where to explore, but I shall post some options later once I've got the download.:goodjob:

The northern chariot should continue exploring to the North east and then go west if the land stops. The other legion near to the chariot needs to continue going north and the other legion should carry on going North West.

There are times, when you think you've done everything right, and then you are reminded you've forgotten something. Something stupid, something called a saved-game...
Here it is! :D

Collosus now!! And make Dellham build a settler of couse

Forgot about the Archer

As to the SSC, that's one of the things I'm here to learn
about...

The SSC is the Super Science City. The idea is to get all 3 Science boosting wonders into the one city: Collosus (fo trade, trade = beakers = science) Copernicus' Observatory and Isaac Newton's College. This city concentrates on trade to get the most benefit out of having all these wonders. Phenomenal science levels can be reached out of this city, with the help of libraries, universities and the SETI Program later on :) The idea is to get this city in a position with trade boosting terrain, such as specials (silk, gems, gold etc.) and rivers. To learn more go to the Civ2 - Strategy forum, and also try a search under *SSC (don't forget the '*' because the site's search paremeters have a limit of words 4 letters long or longer) and/or Super Science City :goodjob:

Wow we got a lucky spot. Lots of specials and a nice river through the middle.

SSC is in a good spot and we should start the colossus as everyone said ASAP.
With Dellham chirning out the settlers it shouldn;t take long to colonize the known continent.

Hmm, it's a good spot, but what river are you talking about? Dellham has one, but that isn't the SSC.

I like this big continent:D

He means the river going down the map that can be used for at least two more cities, either on the river or near to it.

Good points. More than Dellham will be churning out Settlers. TFalls needs to do so also.
Turn 3200 - New city has this image:

I again recommend a middle city, on the Pure Green directly between our first 2 great cities - to be built before the 2Whales site. And the N2 city previously suggested, on the road to Elysium. New cities, to build happiness guards for our two Wonder Cities will be essential. Already we are stressed marching a new guard to Regia Civitas in time, due to lack of nearby cities and Roads.

Regarding the Dellham Settler. I had originally thought River Mouth first. But I now think something closer, SE of Dellham, a gate onto the River, so we can rehome some of our large contingent of Regia Civitas units. RB above, suggested by ... Ren?

Respectfully, Your Domestic Advisor

Yes - let's build a city on the pure green to crank out guards and especially settlers for new cities and for building infrastructure. It's not too early to consider our internal trade strategy. Check out the great game notes by Andu Indorin given here. We will need many roads built for efficient caravan trade as a solid foundation for a strong empire. :D
