why are there ratings? who can make them? what purpose do they serve? my stickied thread (TY) at http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=119 has a rating of 5 stars. what does this mean?

Probably to make it easier for the people from Firaxis to read - they'll find the more favoured threads/ideas quicker.

who can make them?

Anyone, there's a wee drop-down menu at the bottom right of the screen (when you're viewing a thread in the Suggestions forum)

what does this mean?

It's just how people have rated the thread... (5 stars being good

I believe ratings also used to be in the completed modpacks forum as well, and may still be used.

AH joy. I get the same message when I try to rate a thread as I do when I try to vote. I truly hate AOL. :rolleyes:

I disabled it now, since most posters don't use that thread ratings feature.
