This is how it all started, with the discovery that the Balseraph are actually NOT the richest nation on Erebus!!
"WHAT A SHAME!!" Exclaimed Perpentach.
"But then... What are riches worth when you do not spend them!? "
Perpentach thought about it for a moment.
"LET'S SPEND ALL THIS USELESS GOLD!!"
Perpentach started to dance while pelting the court advisors with coins, of course everyone fled.
Then this happened... I guess it was to be expected!
Ninja Archers FTW!
MOAR COPPER!!
Perpentach, as the good leader that he is, ordered his trusty hunters to kill some wild and enraged flying beasts. This allowed the nearby population to feel much better and safe.
The city of Guell was founded, but the economic prospects are still way too good, more cities would need to be created to lower this offensive positive budget.
Advancements in the domain of construction allowed a production boost in the empire's workshops.
Perpentach could not help but notice that most of his land was surrounded by sea, this realisation influenced his research priorities.
All those inventions made Perpentach feel creative. This was definitely a good time to spend on expansion projects!
Some pachyderms are still in the way, Of course they need to die. Our hero hunter once again used his 'second chance' . The badly battered elephant was then prime target to level up our Nightwatch ninja archers.
Perpentach was very happy to learn that from now on, ocean faring boats would be only one click away.
Perpentach decided that the landmass at the east needed to be colonized so he sent a part of his army there to destroy the offensive mercenary fort that polluted the local landscape. Seriously, what good are mercenaries that you cannot even hire?
But then who would want to hire mercenaries stupid enough to be lured out of their forts by mere animated puppets ...
On the vast seas not all things are hostile, some things are more akin to a tourist on a fishing boat trip, like as this fellow here.
Perpentach decided that this fellow was likely to have seen a good part of the world and decided to try to trade map with him. It did cost some money but such a freakin tourist ought to have an interesting part of landscape written down on paper. The result was quite interesting.
Perpentach had not forgotten his worst enemy for so much. He even decided to study the faith of his enemy in order to understand them better. The fellowship of the leave was a laughable concept but their worshipers were none the less a very clean bunch. Perpentach figured that building them a temple in Jubilee would improve public sanitation. Of course the vile lady Ethne, upon, learning this took her chance at trying to impose us her faith. I wish i could slap her.
We build a lion cage in Hexam.
Perpentach learns about writing. He can finally put all this poetry on paper.
The destruction of the local mercenary camp ended up being a somewhat costly business, two veteran hunters and one parrot perished when those crazed mercenaries made a mass sortie. Then one tsunami was used ( I really had to try the thing
) and the other troops mopped the survivors.
In the end it did clear the place and provided some substantial XP to other troops.
Then this.
Then Ocella Is founded, the westernmost city.
Hammurabi would be proud.
Then the city of Vincon is founded, the easternmost settlement of the empire.
What a relief!! The budget is finally in the red!! We are finally using this useless gold!
It was hard but we did it!
Now all the fun will be about putting it back into the green!
We meet more buddies.
And discover philosophy.
And vote for the creation of a gambling ring.
Oh and before i forget, I went a little creative here and made a sea explorer Hero.
Behold, the Aquatic hunter!!
Yes, I gave one of our hunter some armor, weapon + water walking amulet and set him to walk the high sea with his pet Parrot. Lets have him not die and explore the whole oceans, that would be way cool!
And there is some lousy gryphon nearby that could go with him, ... maybe.
Edit: Yeah, and i did send some freaks and zealots to the new cities, I wish we could attack Lady Ethne soon enough but i did not feel at ease with our capped army constituted of mostly hunters, I built two barracks which helped and trained a couple more horsemen. I started building a temple of the leave in Jubilee. My idea here is that the +2 health would allow to switch away from Shamanism to Warrior caste without having the capital fall into starvation.
Furthermore, we can spread fellowship of the leave around for more faith!!
