Botwawki 2.6

well, with the amount of s*** i've gotten for slavery issues... clearly everysingle one of my people hate slavery. :p

It's made my people worse.

@Grandkhan: Who says he doesn't have a mininuke and took a companion? In fact I think I referenced a blonde going with him from the vault. He does like blondes.

I meant a companion sanctioned by the Vault who'd remember everything and return back to the Vault with the information.

Mind you, she probably died 35 minutes into the episode so its a moot point I guess :p

Just as a reminder to those late with the orders, starting the update tomorrow.

While we believe that such matters are best left for the council of Ocala to resolve by themselves, we acknowledge that this is an important matter for the people of Ocala. As such, we will lock the offending man in jail at the Citadel and sentence him to a few years of hard labor and education in the ways of God, in hopes that this will rehabilitate him into society.

Further violations will not be treated leniently.

Meanwhile the women will be encouraged to atone for their sins by joining the Sisterhood in quiet contemplation of God with the Brotherhood. The boys, if grown, will be encouraged to join the Brotherhood.

Orders:

To defeat the Army of Minorne, our Order's primary agenda, we need more guns. Our swords and shields may be strong, but it would be no match against the physical superiority of the army of Minorne.

Ergo, we of the Order is in desperate need for a new scrap metal.

Send out 300 men around Ocala area and scour it for any scraps of metal that we can use to create a gunsmith!

Send out 300 men west to Morriston equipped with low tech melee weapons and scour it for scrap metal and weapons and ammunition as well!

We are desperately unprepared for warfare. This must change.

Orders:
Spoiler :

We're going to need a lot more scrap.

* An expedition of 150 Men, 100 2-H Guns, 5 Laser Weapons, 10 Heavy Weapons, 35 1-H Guns salvages the ruins of Port Authority and Caloosahatchee for scrap that can be used to reclaim at least one of the settlements. Failing that, keep scavenging Fort Myers for whatever we can find.

* On the long shot that the mirelurks can be reasoned with or in any way communicated with, try shouting our peaceful intent at them from quite a long distance away. Failing that, use electrical amplification of loud noises to scare them off; take a couple for autopsy if possible.

* Send the B-26s on photo-reconnaissance flights; arm them with chaff and missile countermeasures, now we know that Sentry Bot SAMs can target our planes' flight ceilings. Try to get a rough idea of the disposition of Minorne's Army, the likely location of their computer/radio facility, and strategic-level intelligence we can disseminate to other factions.

Overseer's Challenge:
Spoiler :
Overseer’s Challenge said:
The Army of Minorne has vanished and we can safely say that our fighters performed admirably. A debate has emerged on how to recognize these brave heroes of the vault. Some claim that they ought to be extended special privileges and rights over other vault dwellers. Others suggest that a medal or something could be formed. A select few have suggested that as they were simply performing a duty that any vault dweller could or would do, no special recognition is necessary. How do we respond to this issue?

For our veterans, begin striking two medals -- a service medal for all those who served against the Army, and the Overseer's Order, medals for those whose service went above and beyond the call of duty -- Vault 40's highest military honor.

Orders for Update Nineteen:
In the aftermath of the terrible defeat at Hangarville, the majority of the Saint Vikings have felt sadness and depression. Attempting to lighten their spirits and pass the time in the Vault, the Overseer has devised a rehabilitation plan. Firstly, members of the medical department are to be instructed in the ways of therapy to hear the complaints of the people while attempting to soothe the pains of sadness. Secondly, the Overseer has authorized the construction of retro ping pong tables and various other tabletop games that the instructions to build and play them had been saved into the Vault database before the war. The tabletop games are designed to relieve stress and keep the citizens in a calm mind, while introducing simple competitions to encourage the populace.

During this time, all rooms are to be searched and any contraband chems confiscated to prevent an outbreak of drug use and crime.

Movements / Orders
-Stay down in the Vault for the foreseen future.
-Construct various tabletop games.

At this point, I'm almost done with the update, but I'm giving an additional 24 hours for Darksaber and J.K. Stockholme to get orders in.

Update 19: 2249, January – June
Everybody Wants to Rule the World

Inter-Faction Reports

SUNSHINE KINGDOM FACES OUTBREAK OF TOTAL WAR. After the Armies of Minorne had waged war upon the people of the Saint Vikings and the outposts of Vault 40, it seems that they have united for a final conflict for destruction of all those who stand in their way. They have attacked the Sunshine Kingdom outright and razed one of its primary settlements. After avoiding airborne patrols and scouts, the newly unified Army of Minorne emerged from the Sunshine Wasteland’s hinterlands to strike at Fort Cocoa. While the city’s automated defenses and militia did their best to hold the city safe, they were not enough to stem the tide of Minorne. Almost everyone present was slaughtered and the town was burned to the ground by the attackers in mid-June. It seems likely that the Army of Minorne will continue their advances, but no one seems to know where they will go next.

Faction Reports

The Citadel
Spoiler :

The Citadel suffered a major setback as the bunker’s main reactor suffered a malfunction, likely as a result of the rewiring that took place when an automated defense system was restored. With the risk of a full-blown meltdown, the leadership ordered an evacuation of the bunker to the town of Holy Wood. A skeleton crew remained with only limited supplies to repair the bunker. Unfortunately, one of the technicians apparently made a horrendous error, and the reactor overloaded and exploded, causing immense damage to the entire structure. There were no survivors. Based on scouts, it appears that the base’s self-destruct systems were activated by the reactor failure, leading to total loss of all facilities within. The faction survives, holding together at the town of Holy Wood.

A minor expedition was sent west with the town of Ridgeland as their listed objective. To travel all of that distance, they started by passing through and collecting loose scrap in the towns of Jacksonboro and Green Pond. Both towns were completely bereft of life, and some were wondering if there was anyone still alive out there. They ran into trouble at Yemassee, where a small band of raiders were located. A vicious battle erupted, but thanks to vastly superior equipment and training, the Citadel’s warriors emerged triumphant. It appears that the deceased raiders were cannibals, and many people were freed from captivity as the result of the fight. They offered to assist the Citadel’s expedition as they returned to Holy Wood. The expedition finally made it to Ridgeland, finding it full of all types of irradiated wildlife, and found little besides a few more bits of scrap to add to their collection. The return journey was uneventful as these people returned to Holy Wood.

Turn Stat Changes
-20 Population, -20 Laser Weapons from bunker meltdown
-5 Population, -210 Ammunition from western expedition losses
+35 Population, +300 Scrap Parts, +40 Low-Tech Melee Weapons from western expedition salvage
+20 Population from immigration
+140 Food and Water from surplus production

Commander’s Challenge: The people we rescued in Yemassee are not our people. Some of our people suggest that we should enslave them in order to preserve the cultural integrity of the citadel, also arguing that they may become a hostile influence over time. How do we respond to this proposal?

The Conch Thalassocracy of the Keys
Spoiler :

The Thalassocracy continued to look uneasily over its shoulders for the arrival of raiding attackers, but no such assault has yet to materialize since the battle with Big Pine. An increasing amount of graffiti has emerged with anti-slave sentiment, showing a growing political divide among the populace. In order to take the people’s minds off of the rising disputes and imminent threats, an expedition was dispatched to the ruins of Cape Coral in the northeast. The group found a moderate amount of scrap and other assets, the prize of the salvage being a small cache of rifles that were found in an abandoned house. The weapons and attached ammunition and tech parts were returned to the ships. No larger salvage operations were undertaken, and the expedition returned with their admittedly meager load of supplies.

Turn Stat Changes

+5 Slaves, +250 Food from market dividends
+30 Population from immigration
+10 Population from natural growth
+140 Food and Water from surplus production

High Doge-President’s Challenge: There is some concern that an organized resistance movement is being formed against the High Doge-President. For the moment it has only manifested in the form of graffiti and other anonymous nonviolent attacks against the High Doge-President’s family and closest supporters. This disorganized group has taken an old US flag as their symbol, and seems to be advocating for a true democracy and the end of slavery. How do we respond to this movement?

Maritime Collective
Spoiler :

The Maritime Collective continued to salvage locally in Pensacola, taking apart old decaying structures and barriers to add to their stockpiles of scrap. The efforts have been mostly successful, fueling the construction of a rebuilt marketplace for the larger community. To supplement these findings, an expedition was sent out to the distant Whiting Fields to find any more pre-war military assets or supplies they could salvage. Travelling with an IFV and an ample escort, they had an event free trip before arriving at the old airfields. They discovered there a settlement controlling both airfields, known as Whiting. They warily welcomed the explorers, but forbid them from salvage in the area, claiming it for themselves. The expedition had little choice but to return home empty-handed.

+300 Scrap Parts from Pensacola local area salvage
-2 Fuel from Whiting Field Expedition losses

-320 Food, -220 Water from consumption

Mayor’s Challenge: A travelling band has recently arrived at our borders with an impressive array of both instruments and weapons. They have begun performing outside of our town, and this has led to some disputes among our population. A number claim to mistrust these travelers and claim we should enslave them and seize their substantial assets. Others state they should be left alone, and still others claim we should extend an invitation to these people to stay with us. How should we respond to this debate?

Monastic Brotherhood of Poor-Fellows and Crusader Knights
Spoiler :

The Monastic Brotherhood has been fortunate to avoid the worst of the new war in the east, and continues to thrive from continued immigration and growth. Still, the Army of Minorne has alarmed the leadership of the Brotherhood, who believe themselves to be woefully unprepared for warfare. They have ordered new massive salvage efforts dedicated to recovering as much building materials as possible. The first such expedition went to Morriston, where they recalled that the place is still completely bereft of any scrap, just like last time they went there. They therefore returned to Ocala, where they assisted the local population and another expedition to salvage as much as possible from the surrounding ruins. While the effort was incredibly successful, the dismantling of most of the remaining ruined buildings and even roads in the area is nearing an end, while it is not completely tapped out, the area is likely to be useless for salvage operations in the near future.

Grand Priest’s Challenge: People in Ocala have begun finding various old religious documents that appear to run contrary to our whole philosophy. They claim that the supposed Holy Land we came here to protect actually rests across the great ocean to the east. This runs completely against the history of our people. How do we respond to the rise of these heretical documents and books?

New Age Corporation
Spoiler :

The New Age Corporation has been increasingly prosperous, fueled by hefty trade in the marketplace and surging immigration. A new forge was constructed in Saint Augustine in preparation for the creation of standard melee weapons, easing the reliance upon firearms. To support future construction efforts a reconnaissance in force was launched into the ruins of the large pre-war city of Jacksonville. The expedition proceeded cautiously, looking for anything particularly useful or valuable, and managed to avoid too much conflict. Still, a hefty attrition rate was placed upon the scouts, as countless years of traps and other hazards were found nonstop. Throughout Southside, the area was heavily infested with ghouls, while closer to the river mirelurks emerged to trouble the expedition. Due to caution, they managed to avoid any full-blown battles, but still suffered a number of losses over the months of the expedition. They were unable to find a safe river crossing over the St. Johns, but witnessed a number of vicious creatures deeper in the ruins, including the fearsome deathclaws. They claim that the Southside is more or less safe beyond ghouls, but the north side of Jacksonville is teeming with all sorts of unpleasant denizens of the ruined city.

Turn Stat Changes

+10 Population from immigration to Saint Augustine
+50 Population from immigration to St. Johns
+20 Population from natural growth
-70 Food, -370 Water from consumption

CEO’s Challenge: A number of independent traders who use Saint Augustine as a base of operations are threatening to form a competing trading corporation, and are cooperating heavily. Some argue that in order to preserve authority, a larger form of government should be established over corporate leadership. Others claim that in order to preserve the integrity of the faction, the New Age Corporation should be the only one allowed in our territories. How do we respond to this rising new issue?

New Gulf Commonwealth
Spoiler :

The New Gulf Commonwealth has initiated a flurry of new construction and development. Concerned about an impending conflict with the Army of Minorne, these fears were emphasized when a frenzied attack took place against Leesburg. The town was attacked by a massive force of terrified refugees from further south, mostly consisting of ghouls. The attack was relentless, but artillery and heavy small arms fire eventually led to the full retreat of the assault force. The refugees fled for safer places, having been defeated by the superior firepower of the Commonwealth. Meanwhile, the garrison at Fort Apopka has been continuing to salvage throughout the north Orlando area, retrieving ample scrap and even more munitions to aid in the faction’s defensive efforts. They’ve come into repeated contact with scouts from the Sunshine Kingdom in this area, and some tension has arisen over various bits of salvage, with reports of occasional bloodshed in various fights, though no fatalities.

On the home front, most scrap and a sizable number of tech parts were dedicated to construction and development, establishing a stronger nation. New fortifications were erected around Leesburg and Fort Apopka, hoping to defend these two young towns from any sort of attack. Back at Vault 77, the radio tower was rebuilt, as the Governor issued a call to arms for the wasteland against the growing threat of Minorne. As recently the vault food and water processors have been falling short of the required amount of supplies, these production groups were increased with the addition of new farming equipment and the creation of a water purifier/pump station outside of the vault itself. This has reduced the risk of starvation or dehydration for a while, but the population of the Commonwealth continues to expand and push towards new boundaries.

Turn Stat Changes

+10 Population from natural growth

Governor’s Challenge: The governor has come under increasing criticism from a rising political opponent, who claims that the expenses made recently have been unneeded and irrational. He claims that the risk of the alleged Army of Minorne is minimal at best, and will likely be defeated by other forces long before they can reach the borders of the Commonwealth. He has managed to build a sizable bastion of support among other critics of the Ryan family. Some of the Ryan family advisors have suggested taking means to neutralize this would-be opponent. How do we respond to this new political threat?

Saint Vikings
Spoiler :

The destruction of Hangarville and the loss of the vault’s radio tower created an uneasy feeling of lethargy and despair among the Saint Vikings. Many have been assuming that the end of the society is imminent and could lead to the destruction of the people. The Vault Overseer, while keeping the vault door sealed, has done his best to help bolster morale and prevent violence. The vault’s security forces, or what remains of them, have since scoured the vault for any chems that could induce the people to violence, confiscating what they found. Other efforts have been made to create an interest in tabletop games such as ping-pong, hoping to give people activities to do. Unfortunately, all of this has done little to ease the people, who have begun muttering against the overseer’s leadership.

Turn Stat Changes
-25 Scrap Parts from tabletop construction
+10 Population from natural growth

Overseer’s Challenge: A riot is pending among a number of the people within the vault! We have very few personal weapons or combat devices. Attempting to engage the riot outright without any significant weapons is an invitation for a prolonged struggle, maybe even civil war! Some of our advisors have suggested that the Overseer make a personal appeal to the rioters, even at risk to his own life. Others have suggested the activation of the Mr. Gutsys, but critics claim that programing the robots for this circumstance could lead to a dangerous circumstance wherein the Gutsys may not know when to stop killing, as they have no non-lethal suppression methods. How do we respond to this crisis?

Sunshine Kingdom
Spoiler :

The Sunshine Kingdom is thoroughly at war. A massive Army of Minorne appeared as if by magic in early June outside the defensive reach of the community of Fort Cocoa. Despite this, scout radio reports continued to come in from the Kissimmee River line, reporting everything to be fine. Subsequent emergency patrols to these scouting outposts found all inhabitants long dead, revealing that the Army of Minorne is clearly capable of mimicking voices and short-wave radio communications. The attack upon Fort Cocoa came quickly and viciously, and the town’s automated defenses immediately went online, proving their value and inflicting heavy damage on the advancing ranks. The town militia was quickly rallied and provided their own firepower to the slaughter. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. The Army of Minorne withdrew and sent forward Sentry Bots, capable of sitting out of range of the automated defenses and bombarded the settlement with missiles over the course of several hours. With radio not functioning, only a few highly skilled snipers were able to lash out at the attacking robots. Some damage was done, but eventually the snipers themselves were slaughtered by targeted missile strikes. As the systems went off line and a massive breach was created in the walls, the Army of Minorne charged forward once again. This time they made it into the town and the fighting became desperate and disorganized for both sides. Eventually the brute strength and overwhelming numbers triumphed over the town’s militia, and less than two dozen people managed to escape the massacre that ensued, fleeing to Nasacity. Fort Cocoa is lost, and the fires continue to burn over the wreckage.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Kingdom proceeded with its business, blissfully unaware of the chaos to the south until the arrival of the few survivors in Nasacity. A new market was built in The Mine, creating a strong trading point for the growing numbers of independent salvagers in the Orlando ruins. Farming equipment was installed at the new settlement of Oak Hill, which has continued to attract a larger and larger number of followers to their local cult. The community itself has prospered, helping make up a good part of the food supply shortfall created by the destruction of Fort Cocoa. Salvage efforts were conducted around each town that still had sources to salvage from, and The Mine and Edge reported the greatest successes, though Oak Hill did come through with a handful of tech parts in addition to their scraps. Salvagers from The Mine have reported contact and occasional clashes with salvagers from the New Gulf Commonwealth all throughout the ruins of Orlando. They have claimed that occasionally people have been injured in fights and firefights with the NGC over the more interesting pieces of scrap to be recovered.

Scouts from The Mine provided the Sunshine Kingdom with a better understanding of the layout of Central Florida. Unfortunately, flyovers by the Vault 40 pilots have proven mostly useless, as everything looks similar from the air and no decent photography enhancement equipment exists. All of the useful data has been achieved by efforts on the ground. In Orlando, several concentrations of ghouls were spotted, but to the surprise of many, the numbers are declining, and increasing numbers of human salvagers have been frequently spotted in the downtown ruins. The entire downtown area, including somewhat open areas like the Executive Airport has been deemed completely worthless for farming, and some pockets of heavy radiation were found at the airport and other surrounding areas. Fort Gatlin was found to be under the control of a group known as the Edgewood Militia, a heavily armed, but still friendly settlement almost within the downtown ruins themselves. They blocked attempts to salvage in their area, but refrained from any violent activity. Other locations specifically scouted were found to be too ruined to be of any use as a future settlement. Scouts also confirmed, that none of the roads or paths in Orlando were usable or passable for the truck, advising that the vehicle would be nigh useless within the downtown limits.

Queen’s Challenge: The survivors of the attack on Fort Cocoa have fallen under scrutiny in the wake of that vicious battle. One camp views these people as heroes who bravely brought word of the assault to the rest of the Sunshine Kingdom. Another claims that these people are traitors and cowards and possibly even agents of Minorne to have run like they did. They have called for incarceration of the survivors, including the handful of children that escaped. How do we respond to this debate?

Survivalist Union
Spoiler :

The Survivalist Union faced a problem when two feuding clans engaged in a bloodbath inspired by a doomed romance between two young members of the clans. The Headwoman didn’t get involved, leading to a vicious battle between the two clans which destroyed one clan and left the other in ruins. For the most part, no one did anything else of substance, beyond adhering to the old motto of Duck and Cover when it was believed an Army of Minorne marched by. Otherwise, the people of the Union have continued to live an uneventful lifestyle.

Headman’s Challenge: In the wake of the clan-based bloodbath, a growing number of people have become discontent with the lack of order or law in our society. These individuals are viewing the Headwoman with less and less respect, and could be formulating a coup to overthrow her! Some of the Headwoman’s advisors have called for an immediate crackdown, whether others have tentatively agreed that the opposition has a point and that reform could thwart an outbreak of violence. How do we respond to this crisis?

Vault 37
Spoiler :

Vault 37 has taken several new leaps forward in construction and development of their young faction. On the home front this has home in the form of the building of a new reactor to supplement the vault’s sustaining reactor systems. The reactor currently only produces excess energy, which is being eagerly stored in batteries within the vault. Local salvage has only been bringing in scrap, and an expedition to the nearby Harmony Golf Preserve found a few small buildings which were quickly dismantled and brought home without incident, beyond an encounter with a particularly vicious nest of alligators. They reported that there was no salvage of note remaining in the area, so further planned salvage efforts in the east were cancelled. Some people were astonished though, by the sight of planes flying overhead frequently. A few of the vault dwellers wanted to shoot them down, but it was widely agreed that they were out of range.

A larger expedition was sent south to a number of other pre-war sites, hoping to replicate the successful expedition to the west last year. They avoided encounters with the settlement at Poinciana, choosing instead to travel through the Allen David Broussard Catfish Creek Preserve, picking up the miniscule amounts of loose scrap they found from old campsites within. Unfortunately, while camping they discovered an unpleasant new monster. Giant Mosquitoes plagued the camp, typically sucking people dry when they were asleep or alone on sentry duty. Thankfully, only a few fell to these attacks, others were brought back to health with blood donations. Heavy weapons were deployed to destroy any mosquito nests discovered, but they continued to be a nuisance throughout the expedition. In Lake Wales they found a substantial bit more scrap, as it appeared that until recently a settlement had existed there. Ample signs of destroyed barricades, walls, and homes were found, including mutilated bodies. It was believed that whatever killed the settlement had likely passed through less than a couple of weeks before the expedition had arrived. A final stop was made at the MacDill Auxiliary Field near Avon Park, and nothing of note was found at either the airfield or the town itself. What scrap could be recovered was salvaged and the expedition returned home, avoiding any real conflicts on the way, though the constant echoes of fierce fighting could be heard to the east.

Overseer’s Challenge: With the construction of a reactor, our storage space is growing somewhat slim for the excess amounts of food and water we are producing. We have two possible alternatives suggested by the Overseer’s advisors. We can either stop consuming excess food and water and simply destroy it as it is produced, or we can end immigration, and use residential space for storage. How do we respond to this situation?

Vault 40
Spoiler :

Vault 40 has managed to bounce back somewhat from the loss of its outlying outposts to the Army of Minorne at the end of last year. Medals and honors were awarded to those who had fought in the battles against the Army in the vault, and survivors have settled comfortably within while a new expedition was launched. The new expedition sought to determine what could be salvaged from the old bases at Port Authority and Caloosahatchee, as well as attempt to engage or capture the mirelurks that had begun moving into the Fort Myers area. The expedition was only somewhat successful, retrieving what scrap parts they could, and finding a hidden stash of tech parts in the ruins of Caloosahatchee, likely kept by an selfish migrant before the razing of the town. A brief battle was had with the mirelurks, and a number of bodies were brought back to the vault, despite their horrendous stink by the time they returned.

In the north, the expedition of flyers sent to the Sunshine Kingdom has remained in contact with Vault 40, relaying information both about the Army of Minorne and the Kingdom to the Overseer. They flew reconnaissance missions to determine the location of the army and its headquarters. Planes overflew Lake Placid frequently, but were unable to spot anything which appeared to be a headquarters. Some attribute this to the fact they were using pre-war civilian cameras and lacked any way to enhance the pictures taken of the region. The pilots claimed a more promising find near St. Cloud, a vault which appeared to be frequently used by unknown inhabitants. The pilots were the first to detect the Army of Minorne prior to their attack on Fort Cocoa, but sadly did not spot them in time to give any sort of warning to the inhabitants. They avoided any conflict, concerned about the Sentry Bots’ ability to shoot them down. They have since returned to Nasacity, and are resting and awaiting the inevitable next conflict, wondering where they will be able to run if this town falls too.

Overseer’s Challenge: Something appears to be living in our food stockpiles. Food has gone missing, and we’ve noted a growing amount of radroaches that have to be dispatched. We’re concerned that there could be a breach in the lower levels of the vault. Some people suggest that the vault could be compromised and that we should seal off the afflicted areas completely, though this would cost us a good portion of our food and water storage. Others suggest that we should attempt to purge whatever exists within our storage with weaponry, but this runs the risk of more extensive damage to the vault and higher casualties among our people. How do we respond to this issue?

From: Christmas

We are prepared to assist you in your time of need. We are willing to provide 200 men with 1-H Guns, 200 men with 2-H Guns, and 5 with Heavy Weapons to aid whatever town is attacked next. Unfortunately, we are running low on ammunition reserves, and request your assistance in creating an ammunition convertor in our town. We require 5 Tech Parts or we will be unable to aid you beyond this year.

Your plight has been brought to our attention and we are willing provide you with aid in any coming battles. While we recognize the dire threat that the Army of Minorne is to the Sunshine Wasteland, we cannot simply send our people abroad without securing our home front. We are in need of scrap parts and tech parts to secure ourselves. If you could provide us with 300 Scrap Parts or 3 Tech Parts, we would be able to part with 50 men armed with Low-Tech Melee Weapons and 50 men armed with 1-H Guns to the defense of whatever town next falls under siege.

Spoiler :

From: State of Daytona

We are going to send at minimum 100 Low-Tech Melee warriors to your defense to join any combined army to fight the Army of Minorne. We would send more, but we lack ammunition to supply any substantial battlefield force of ranged weapons. If you can supply us with 600 Ammunition, we will send up to 200 more men, armed with 1-H Guns.

@J.K. Stockholme: The reason you didn’t get any scrap from St. Cloud with the last update was because it wasn’t in your orders to salvage locally.

Would you be amenable to the Kingdom equipping your planes for the defense of the Kingdom? Our scientists and engineers are convinced that our mininukes can be deployed from your airplanes, which will give us a huge advantage in the destruction of the Army of Minorne.

We send this message to all who hold hope for a future for humanity in these wastelands. We are under attack, devastating attack, by the beings known as the Warriors of Minorne. Already some cities have offered their aid, but we are afraid that even with their generous help and our not insignificant armament, they will wipe us from the map.
If humanity doesn't band together, we are afraid that settlement after settlement will fall to this scourge. Let us hear the wisdom of a per-war saying "If we don't hang together, we will hang apart."
Please, you are our only hope.

The hearts of the Saint Vikings are with you, Thomas, however broken they may be. Unfortunately we would be utterly helpless to defend our selves from even a small gang, let alone Minorne's Army, not to mention that we would not even receive your message as we are locked away in fear.

We may send help, but we need a good reason to fight a threat so far south. We hope that the queen understands that we are business people.
