Wow! This game was close! Only 21 points between first and second, and 110 points separated the top 3 players. We had 11 players scoring in excess of 11,000 points, and an incredible 28 players scoring over 10,000!

But it was Zamint3 who picked up his first medal, and it was a gold one! SirPleb was close-behind in silver medal position, and Dynamic picked up the fastest domination award as well as a bronze medal.

Summary of medal winners:

Changes in the Global Rankings::

With no submissions from Drazek in the last two slots, the door was left-open for kunningas to move to the top of the global rankings - well done. :goodjob:

Congratulations to all winners and participants! :D

Congratulations to all the winners!

I noticed that a faster conqueror often didn't beat a slower one. I thought that this was more rare than it is here. Maybe it's time to think harder about score optimization even when you don't milk.

I have just come to the same realization. Better late than never! Ummm, sorry, bad pun.

Congrats all! The competition was certainly fierce in this one. Great game Zamint3. You jumped to the head of the pack in your QSC, with that great city placement and expansion rate--then never looked back.

28 games at 10k+ what a result :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:

Congratulations to all

It's those Sipahi. They're evil, I tell ya. ;)

Congrats, everyone.

They are the lowest scoring victories for each victory condition. Hover your mouse over the award image in the results page to see a tool tip that tells you what each award is for.

Sipahi  What's a Sipahi? ... :D (BTW, great to see you've returned!!)

Wow!! What a stack of Conquest and Domination Victories!! Very happy to be in the 800's with such a group; must work on cutting another couple hundred years off! (I can think of 4 things already, mostly involved with having more time to play the game.)

Congratulations to the Winners, and :goodjob: to all participants!

A side note: a Diplomatic best date of 690AD?

Well done, Durkz on getting the 20K award.

I didn't think that many would go for this which is why I tried it ;) I could only see four attempts in the results and of those, jeffelammar finished on the same turn as I did but we were almost 30 years away from the award!

I saw that we the same year and had to chuckle. Still, you beat me soundly in score. Did you invade another continent? I just took out Carthage and Zulu because I was too lazy to invade anywhere else.
Too bad about the 30 years. I think I could have saved that if I hadn't messed up some AA prebuilds.

Congrats to everyone.

Yes. I was attempting to farm Great Leaders but I didn't really have any luck until it was too late. I was disbanding culture buildings from so many of my cities at the end to avoid a 100K win.

My cause wasn't helped that when I did get a GL, I built a sipahi army (going for Heroic Epic) which managed to lose on its first attack, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory! Still, you play and learn.

I had a fairly good thing; was going to get space victory but France beat me by one turn. Everyone was at war with them and they were hoarding techs; meanwhile I couldn't get the AIs to cooperate and research the other branches of the tech tree(everyone went down the same path as me). I was at least hoping for highest-scoring defeat; was barely beat out to that though.

Bad Luck. Sometimes thieving techs can get you out of a hole in that situation.

Congrats to Gyathaar for beating me to the 100k award ;) . Even with my reloading antics and attempts to give myself unfair advantages over other players I still get spanked  . Its a bit like being Darth Vader no matter how much I scheme and work for the triumph of the dark side of the force there is always some Luke Skywalker who will come along and stick me with a light sabre. There is a moral in there somewhere, maybe I'll figure out by the time I'm Alans age. GOTM 5000 can't come soon enough :)

Gold medal.....vauw. [dance]

I'll have to qoute myself :

No Sipahi, no golden age, no great leaders but lots of fun :)
Quick initial expansion and staying very focused on the goal : Domination, was some of the reasons for success, I think. :crazyeye:

Great game :goodjob:

Congrats everyone!

Hopefully next month I can compete in the GotM. Once I get a new monitor and copy of Civ 3 that is. :) I have a distinct feeling I'll rack up several red ambulances, but there's no other way to find out than to try. :D
