Alexander the Great scenario question

Okay, I've gotten Alexander married to all four of the women throughout the game but I never get a message about his son being born. What do I have to do to get one of the wives to bear his child? Am I missing anything? Because I keep making turns after I have conquered all of the known world and I'm still waiting for his son to be born as I click the turn button. Much would be appreciated if I were given a few hints or tips.

Maybe Alexander wasn't the conquerer we all thought he was.
