Hi after a long period of searching i have found a site that will sell and ship to you the pre-release version of Civ 4. It wont come cheap mind - and you have just 14 hours to order it (and counting).

They will ship worldwide unlike many others - to the EU inc shipping it costs just under $65 (thats about €60 / £40).

Of course none of this should've been neccessary in the first place... :mad: cos yeah like theres not 165 million ppl in the EU or anything :mischief:
 
Damn... I can't buy it. I'll have to wait till it's in Poland, though there is a funny situation since noone can tell us who is going to distribute Civ 4 in Poland. Damn... :(
 
My local store gets the imported version this friday. I doubt I can get it earlier if I order it online now..

I'm in the UK where some retailers (both bricks & clicks) are still stating the 28th as the release date, although I'm not convinced, I'll hold on and see if I can get it over here at the end of the week.

Actually, it's closer to 400 million!

Unlike what most people may think, the population of the EU is almost 100 million higher than the population of the USA.

The proportion of Civ fans is about the same, according to this poll: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=130684

This combined makes me think it's very strange that the pre-release version was only available for North America.

It's actually more like 450 million. ;)
Anyways, I've already preordered form Play.com, it won't be the preorder edition though. Besides, from what I've heard, the European version will have the spiral-bound manual and tech tree poster, like the preorder edition.
 
Mmh could have saved myself some bother if id found that post a few days aga Dicanio - but after looking im still pretty sure Gamestop is the most reliable place for it, and god i cant wait for it...

Not sure why the pre-release was'nt available in the EU - i assume its the language thing but then its not available in the UK either, the other strange thing was how difficult it was finding a US online retailer willing to ship to the UK, amazon refused point blank and another would ship to France, Switzerland and the goddam Falkland Islands but not the UK. I think it may have somthing to do with not cannabilising their operations in other countries. Gamestop will bascially ship anywhere and has no operations outside the US / CA (i think).

Lolol - ill have check Wikipedia for the population. Yes funny world, the EU now has the biggest economy and highest military spending of any bloc in the world - yet does'nt really throw its weight around as much as the US.

Same here in Sweden, www.spelbutiken.se claims the 27th or 28th, but i don't trust them :mischief:.

I can tell you who will distibute Civ4 in Poland - Cenega Poland will :)
 
Ima wait till i can get it off some online shop in holland, 60euro's for Civ is to muhc. to much for any game in my opinion, specially since i seen some online stores offer it for halve that price.
 
Yep i agree - expensive,

but i reckon i must have had a good 1800 hours out of civ3 over the last 4 years (including three months of convenient unemployment during the total addiction phase), so even including buying all of the expansions thats what? 2.7 pence an hour...

err bargain in my opinion.

Sorry you've been searching for it so long, Teccuk. Since September there has been a thread that contains all known international web orders. Yahoo for instance also ships the pre-order version internationally. Also, for US, EU and other countries you can find the cheapest web order option (In most of EU: 29 euro, or even 18 pounds ~ 26 euro).

Thanks, it looks better than it was few weeks ago. Well... I think I can wait a week more... or can I? :cry:

Confirmed? :) Since I am not eager to spend too much money on anything (sorry I was born greedy :D) I'd really like to buy it from Poland

It'll come out in Croatia 2-3 days after coming out in Britain or Ireland, or wherever Take 2 euro factory is. Since I already preordered from a Croatian webshop and they give me free shipping and 10% discount, I'll stick with that order. Best buy. I will just have to endure the pain until then.
