Only hope in that situation, I think, is to settle, and hope a Warrior pops from the hut. Move him into the city, then hope you continue to get lucky and hold off the enemy.

I always thought the map generator was set up so that couldn't happen, though.

Is that at 4000 BC? If so, I assume there's a settler in amongst the AI stack? I'd be interested to have a look at the start file if you still have it.

For a long time I wanted to show this image, but never got around to it.
I moved my settler 1 tile here. I though it was the closest start ever, but now you beat me to it.




PS: shouldn't this thread be in the general Civ3 forum? its not a mac speciffic thing is it? And and in the general Civ3 forum more people can enjoy it!

no, this was how it came up after i started the game. had pretty much everything 'at random'. it turned out to be a very small piece of land.
