As many of you will be aware, we are planning on running two civ3 and two civ4 gotms every month - quite a workload!
The current 'classic' civ3 gotm is quite a bit of work to prepare, because we need to prepare maps & saves in both civ3 & PTW. With the slight rule changes between civ3 & PTW, this also means that game design must be somewhat restricted in the interestes of balance.
With the release of civ3 complete for macs, the last real justification for maintaining both versions has diminished, and we're now only getting a handful of vanilla Civ3 / mac entries each month.
As such, we have made the decision to stop supporting vanilla civ3. The last classic GOTM supporting vanilla Civ3 will be the game released on september 15th. We regret the inconvenience to those of you who still play using vanilla civ3, and recommend that you get a copy of C3C (which includes PTW) or even just PTW. You can get these on ebay for around $10.
