I promised this unit to AndyTerry a long time ago, and it was requested by others. So here it is.

Merkava - fully animated, 505 triangles, texture 256x512, no damage states, no team color.
Two color schemes available - desert and olive.
It uses the Tank animations but Modern Armor sounds, if you set it right in CIV4ArtDefines_Unit.xml. I included the sample of it in readme.txt.

are you planning on creating units again?
Yes, but not as much as before. I'm planning on making a complete tutorial for 3DSMax to encourage more unit makers.

i salute you sharick,

i hope you make some more texture to the tank,

and i suggest to rename it to merkava mark 4 - as it is the current tank israel uses.

i wish you posted this thread yesterday - i couldve added to my 3uu,

i used a skinned modern tank as the merkava, mabe you can make use of it to skin your model also.

again im imppressed,

with all your units.
 
Looks great sharick :goodjob: the green version looks a bit too lime to me but I'm just nitpicking :)

I'm glad you're making a tutorial. I've been feeling real guilty about not having the time to make a 3ds max tutorial, 'cause it's like I'm hogging all the knowledge, or something like that :D so it's good to see you do this.

About the texture. It's hard to make one that everybody likes and if you work with it for too long you loose objectivity. So if you'd like to tweak it on your own I suggest you change hue and saturation. You can get any color scheme you like.
@keldath - I can't use other textures because I would have to remap it on the model, which is too much work.

Gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous! It inspired me to look at all the rest of your mods and I must say you are truly an artiste.

I am wondering-- are these mods for whole new units with their own stats and movement? Many of them are "based on vanilla tank"... if I load them into my game, does that mean that all nations will be building it in lieu of the Tank or Modern Armor, or only the player civ (I tend to play single-player vs. AIs). And the anti-aircraft guns... just replace the SAM infantry, right?

Sorry if my questions are ignorant, I'm just trying to fit these into a context. They are awesome and beutiful mods. I'd like to use different looking vehicles for as many countries as possible, and a wide variety of heavy, medium and light vehicles...
